Always More Fun Learning...

Made it through week three and we are officially halfway through Summer School 2017! This week our second graders got the chance to start on their STEM projects where they were able to make paper bridges. This fun activity helped them learn about engineering and infrastructure by using paper and pennies to construct the sturdiest bridges possible. Meanwhile, our first graders were able to enjoy a brand new fieldtrip we added this summer called Wonderscope! They had a really great time visiting the various exhibits and participating in programs designed to engage children in simple and complex forms of play that result in foundational learning. And of course this week was filled with plenty of cool trips to the pool and Kaleidoscope. We hope everyone enjoys their upcoming holiday break! See you next Thursday.

Already Halfway Through Summer School

We are blazing through these weeks of summer school. But... that's what happens when you're having a blast! The students have been very busy building catapults, learning about animals from the zoo mobile and touring the WWI museum. The students said, "It was very interesting, educational and we enjoyed going to the top of the Liberty Memorial Museum which overlooks our beautiful city."  The students are having a blast blazing trails through the community.

Remember there is NO school July 3-5.  HAVE a SAFE and happy holiday!

Please note that the construction barriers are now up. Please do not park or drop off your children near the parking lot exit. Please drop off your children on 69th street heading East.

If your child would like to replicate the recipes tried in the cooking class at home, click here for the list (newest ones are at the bottom). If you want to send in a recipe for our "cookbook", please email mhynes@academielafayette.org.

Bon weekend!

Searching For Grandparentsgrandparents2

Each year we reach out to grandparents and special family members/friends -- the aunties, uncles, grandmas, papas, neighbors or family friends that are important to our students. You know who they are! In November, we have an event just for them called Generations Day where they are invited to visit our campuses and see their special child's classroom. We also send them the summer school newsletter so that they can see what goes on at AL in the summer -- and perhaps catch a glimpse of their child. If you think those special friends or family members would like to be included, please share their information here

Share Your Business On A T-shirtbusiness

The Académie Lafayette $10,000 Cash Raffle is just around the corner. Not only does this event raise money for our school - $80,000 just last year -- but it also provides businesses an opportunity to advertise their services to our families. Then, in May, the Musketeer March comes around. Again, another opportunity. If you would like to be a T-shirt sponsor for one or both events contact Sarah Guthrie at sguthrie@academielafayette.org. Thanks for your support!
