Casino Royale Success!

Thank you to all who attended the fundraising event Casino Royale. The SFDHS gymnasium was beautifully transformed into an elegant ambiance, dazzling with "Mardi Gras" flare. Over 300 parents, alumni, past parents, faculty, and supporters enjoyed a wonderful night of delicious food and spirits, fun casino gaming, dancing to the live music of the Street Players Band, and the opportunity to bid on over 140 silent and live auction packages. We are pleased to report that we raised $71,132 (net) for the co-curricular programs including athletics, band, drama, and over 30 scholastic and interest-based clubs. This year we asked the student body to help sell Casino Raffle tickets prior to the event; the sale of these tickets brought in $13,365. Funds from the Casino Raffle tickets will help purchase a new cafeteria database management system to be used during student lunch periods. Congratulations to the following winners of the Casino Raffle: $1,000 Priscilla Harding, $500 Alan Hipolite, and $250 James Gieblers! Click on the following link to check out all the incredible items that were up for bid and the proceeds it made for the programs. 2017 Co-Curricular Grant Distribution

Track & Field
The SFDTF program had a tremendous season full of growth and opportunity. The boys and girls teams both won several meets, and placed as runner-ups at numerous invitationals as well. They finished the season with senior Derrius Mullins placing 6th and 12th in Shot Put and Disc respectively at the Division I State Meet, and sophomore Angelo Ricci making his first trip to States in Long Jump, finishing the season with a PR (personal record) that was over two feet further than he started the season with. The team is losing a great group of seniors this year, but are hopeful that the outstanding underclassmen are going to fill these leadership roles in a big way. Congratulations to the following who earned 1st Team All-CCL: Angelo Ricci, Art Williams, James Ervin, AJ Sallee, Joseph Arnold, Andre White, and Derrius Mullins.

Baseball
The baseball team finished their season as District Champions and Regional Runner-ups, with a record of 19-11. The Stallions were led by junior Greg Gilbert (1st Team CCL, 1st Team Central District and 2nd Team All-Ohio) and sophomore Joey Velazquez (1st Team CCL, 1st Team Central District and 1st Team All-Ohio). 12 seniors graduated from the program after winning back-to-back District Champions including Luke Barber, Ryan Corkrean, Dimitri Bergados, Drew McLuckie, Jordan Miller, Dylan Payne, Mike Gilbert, Cole Jacobs, Chris McNally, Jarod Jones, Joey DeSantis and Patrick Moriarty.
