The United Methodist Church of Evergreen
Pastor Russell Fletcher

3rd Sunday after Pentecost
Sunday, June 25, 2017
8:30  and 10:30

Wow!  That's my response to Cowboy Sunday.  This is my fourth Cowboy Sunday as your pastor.  They all have been wonderful, but this one was the VERY best.  Many thanks to the musicians, those who decorated, those who fed the multitude, those who took pictures, and those who provided the pony rides.  If I started naming names I would certainly miss someone so please accept this generic THANK YOU!

Generally in the summer months I depart from the lectionary and preach a series of sermons.  This summer the series is on David, one of the most colorful and meaningful characters in the Old Testament.  We all know the stories of David and Goliath and David and Bathsheba.  However, there is more to David.  I invite you - when you're in town - to be in worship as we look at "the man after God's own heart."

Here's the series:

June 25
"David and Goliath- In God's Name"
I Samuel 17:45
July 9
"David and Jonathan - Ties of Friendship"
I Samuel 18: 1 - 4
July 16
"David and the Ark"
II Samuel 6:9
July 23
"David and Araunah - True Stewardship"
II Samuel 24:24
July 30
"David and Bathsheba - Blinded by Sin"
II Samuel 12: 1 - 10, 13
August 13
"God is Where We See Him"
II Samuel 7: 1 - 17
August 20
"David: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly"
II Samuel 23: 1 - 17
August 27
"David's Best Psalm"
Psalm 23

We will leave the series July 2 as we celebrate America and on August 6 with "Church at the Ranch".

I hope we all have great summer, and if you're in town and not providentially hindered, I hope you will be in worship!

See you Sunday!

Russell
