SUMMER IS COMING QUICK,
COME AND JOIN US!

Summer is right around the corner, as is the beginning of hockey camp season.  If you have not given our camps a try, do so this summer!

We start in Victoria and Nanaimo, BC beginning on July 1, 2017.  Our camps are specialised and are for players who are serious about becoming better hockey players both on and off the ice.  Classes are small and all our coaches are experienced and are interested in your development!  Our off-ice seminar sessions include hockey instruction, entertainment, personal development and mental training.

Click on the video link below to see some clips from our Glacier Ice Camp and see how there is lots of learning and the players are doing lots of reps, given feedback and are kept moving!

Give us a try, if you sign up between today and June 28, 2017 you can take $25.00 off your fee by using this code:  INTERNATIONAL25.

In this version of our newsletter we have a great article on Puck Retrievals and Initiating the Breakout, the article is complete with video examples on how the pros get it done!  Our 2nd article is by Rhianna Weaver, wife of former NHL player, Mike Weaver.  Here she gives 5 things to consider if you want your young player in the NHL one day!  Enjoy!

If anyone is interested in private lessons, semi-private lessons, team practise sessions, inspirational speaking, team workshops or general consulting, I will be available through the whole summer!

Until next time please call or email if I can help with anything.

PUCK RETRIEVALS AND QUICK TRANSITIONS:  7 KEYS TO A SUCCESSFUL BREAKOUT
By Coach Enio

The key to a successful offense is the ability for defensemen to retrieve the puck, make the 1st pass to the forwards, begin the attack and then to get up ice as quickly as possible and join the attack.  Without the puck getting to the forwards as quickly as possible a team's ability to attack is severely limited.  This article and video will give 7 key points to give players and coaches a better understanding to what is required to have a successful break out.

By Rhianna Weaver, as appeared on cbc.ca website

The NHL world began for me back in 2003 when I first met Mike. I was 23 at the time and I soon learned what a relationship with a hockey player was like: long distance, fast-paced, never boring. As our relationship progressed, we moved in together and I witnessed Mike's dedication, determination and devotion to the game. I knew that if I wanted this life with him, I would have to acclimate to pro-hockey lifestyle. After two years we were married, and two years later we had our son. Owen was born into the world of hockey, witnessing and experiencing the 5 rules I am about to share with you. Owen is 9 now, and watching him love and play hockey is a thrilling experience. It makes me appreciate what Mike's parents must have felt for him as a young boy.
