A Conversation with Jennifer Burch, IACP Vice President and Chair of the Education Committee
What have you enjoyed most about being chair? Helping to shape the face of the educational programming IACP provides.
What were your biggest accomplishments in 2017? (Committee accomplishments) Choosing programming for successful Educational Conference. Feedback to date has been very positive. Assisting with planning the FIRST IACP President's Gala which was a success!
What are you most excited about for 2018? Developing the webinar tracks so we have a template to use long term. Having more and more volunteers to help generate great ideas to advance compounding.
How much input do you feel your IACP Committee has? We have plenty of input. As the chair and a Board member we are asked to report on committee activities and asks. The Board actively listens to committee plans and needs.
How valuable are the members of your IACP Committee? The members of this committee are very active, creative and connected members of the compounding community. Their input is incredibly important to make sure that we make good suggestions and programming choices. I am lucky to be surrounded by such great talent!
Why did you decide to get involved with IACP Committees? Well....I was asked to chair in the middle of a Board meeting-how can you say NO? Being a Board member I had been a committee member on a number of committees over the last 6 years. Committee work is what makes the organization strong and helps to set our direction.
What advice do you have for your fellow IACP members to become more involved with their Academy? Look at the committee list and find one that interests you. We all need to be active to keep this organization effective. We need fresh ideas and input!
