2016 Empower Conference

It is such a joy to share with you a wonderful honor that is soon to be bestowed upon my beloved David -- an award that he will receive this week at the Empower Evangelism Conference in Irving, Texas, February 29-March 2. 
 
We were humbled to receive a call back in October from Nathan Lorick, Director of Evangelism for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, who stated that David had been chosen to receive the Roy Fish Lifetime Achievement in Evangelism Award for 2016.  Southern Baptists of Texas  will p resent the award to David in the morning session of the conference on Tuesday, March 1 st .

Dr. Fish was one of David's professors while he was in seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth; receiving this award in his name is going to be so very, very special.  Dr. Fish was a highly respected and dearly loved man, whose life and legacy have impacted thousands and thousands of students throughout the years.

This is such a great honor, and I just wanted to share it with you, as I know you rejoice with us in this special event.  It is such an encouragement and means so much to David and to me!  We are looking forward to a terrific time with Texas Baptist Evangelists and with our family at the conference, as we celebrate the great things God has done.
 
Pray with us as we continue preparations for our upcoming team missions in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Uganda and the Philippines, and for Steven, as he continues his seminary work with Southern Evangelical Seminary.  We are all looking forward to being on the international field together again very soon.  Thank you for praying and sending us so faithfully through the years.  Your friendship, love and encouragement means the world to us.
