This Week on the Mountain
Summer Edition
9:30 am Worship Starts This Sunday

Starting this week, we  worship at 9:30 am , and our weekly email goes on vacation, but we will update you over the summer when things come up, of course.

We know that like our weekly email, many of you are on vacation.  When you are around, please join us for worship on Sundays at 9:30 am.  Our summer worship will be in the Church, and will be more relaxed and shorter, inviting us all to gather together and then enjoy the warm weekend afternoons.  We will even provide you with lemonade, and you can fill us in on all your summer adventures!

Have a very happy summer!

Upcoming Events

Tend the Garden
It is our week to tend the Giving Garden. Meet us there at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday and 9.30 a.m. on Friday.  But volunteers can go at any time. You will find instructions for what to do in the shed. It's mostly weeding! On Wednesday and Friday we will pick the crops that are ready and deliver them to the food banks. Please come on over and help. Email Hilary if you need more information.

Summer Choir
Join our Summer Intergenerational Pickup Choir at SJOTM. Beginning Sunday and continuing through Labor Day weekend, all people of the parish - kids and adults - are invited to help lead worship this summer by singing in the choir. Meet at 8:45 am in the Choir Room to learn a simple anthem and hymns for the day. Come once, or often. All are welcome.
Bill & Sue Catlett
Sunday, July 2
Our treasured members Bill & Sue Catlett will be leaving us next week to move to Wisconsin.  While this is surely an occasion of joy for them, as they move into the next chapter of their lives, it is hard for us to see them go.

Please join us Sunday, July 2 for worship at 9:30 am and a celebration of their ministry and friendship immediately following the service.   We know that you will also join us in prayer, giving thanks to God for them and asking God to watch over them as they leave us.

Lemonade Hour

Beginning this Sunday, June 25th there will be a Lemonade Hour, immediately following the 9:30 am service.  Hosts are needed.  It's easy; all you need to bring is a small treat as the lemonade is provided by the church.  A sign-up sheet is located on the bulletin board outside of Parish Hall.  Weather permitting, Lemonade Hour will take place outside in the front courtyard.

Grace Soup Kitchen
Friday, June 30
Grace Soup Kitchen serves 1,000 hot nutritious meals the last five days of each month to the hungry of Plainfield.  St. John on the Mountain parishioners help on the last Friday of each month.  Join us one Friday as we prepare and serve lunch. The next day scheduled for St. John on the Mountain to serve is on Friday, June 30th from 10 am - 1 pm.  To sign-up email Graham Argent-Belcher.

Men's and Women's Bible Study
The Men's and Women's Bible Study meetings are on summer recess.  Please join us in September as we resume our studies.
