Reed Point
SPRING NEWSLETTER 2017
Storage Lockers Available
We currently have a few storage lockers available to rent.  The lockers are a convenient spot to store all your extras for boating without lugging them back and forth each trip.  We only have a few lockers so contact the office if you are interested.  The annual fee is $656.57 + GST.  The lockers are not heated.
Parking at
Reed Point Marina
To ensure ample parking for all of our customers, please refrain from any long-term parking of large vehicles including motorhomes and box trucks.   Just a friendly reminder that Impark patrols the lot more frequently during the summer season so ensure all vehicles, including trades people, have a valid pass.
Marina Improvements
The new travelift trestle is fully operational.  The marina construction crew is just putting on the finishing touches of paint and paving the approach.  Thank you for your patience during this major project.
On-site oil disposal depot - details coming soon.

WHAT A WINTER!
With the warm weather at the end of May, we would like to forget the snow covered December and January with freezing temperatures.

Thank you to all who helped out this winter clearing the docks and the parking lot of the record amounts of heavy snow.

Customers, employees, friends and family all pitched in to keep the marina from becoming one large snowbank!  We appreciate your patience as we replace all the damaged shelter gutters.
WILLY'S GALLEY
Willy's Galley is staying open later on Sundays.  Sunday hours will be 10am to 5pm to better serve the people working on their boats, and returning from their weekend trips.

Summer hours are as follows:
Wednesdays to Saturdays - 8:30am to 6pm
Sundays - 10am to 5pm
Mondays - 8:30am to 6pm
Tuesdays - CLOSED

After listening to their customers, Willy's Galley is now offering to prepare (on a trial basis) take-out picnic baskets and lunches to go.  Great for those who just want to pack up and go.  Place your order 24 hours in advance to be ready for pick up when you arrive at the Marina.

Selections will include a mix of fresh salads, vegetable trays, meat trays, sandwiches and non-alcoholic beverages.  Prices available for quantity/selection.

Please call or text 778-871-1177.

Stay tuned for more 'Willy' ideas to come as they fine tune their offerings to customers and supporters.
IMPROVED OPTIONS FOR RENEWALS
We would like to thank all of our customers for their support as we transition to new and improved ways of renewing.  We received a good response to the new online option of signing moorage licenses.  We expected a few hiccups, but our staff met each challenge during that very busy time.  We are confident that our ongoing improvements will make renewing smoother for all.

We continue to invest in our systems, and are currently looking at more options for customers to pay and review their accounts online.
NEW FUEL BARGE STAFF
We are ready for a great summer of boating!  We are sad to say goodbye to Emily Clark who has been working with us since the summer of 2014.  Emily has recently graduated from John Casablancas and is now working hard in her new profession as a stylist at a salon in Port Moody.  We wish you all the best, Emily!

Celine started with us as a year-round barge employee in  August 2016, you have probably had the pleasure of meeting her over the past nine months.  Luke will also be working year-round while he finishes his degree at Douglas College.  Shannon joins us for the summer while on break from her studies at the Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, and Iain is also here for the summer, before beginning his second year at the University of Victoria.

This year we also welcome our summer student - in training - Caitlyn!  We have a wonderful new team and look forward to seeing you at the Fuel Dock.
MARINE EDUCATION CENTRE
With Spring upon us you will notice the increased groups of students and visitors to the Marine Education Centre.

The MEC offers hands on learning about marine life to students of all ages.

It is also the main office for the Pacific WildLife Foundation.  For more information on the foundation, check the website at www.pwlf.org and to contact the MEC for classes please fill out the online email contact form.
ELECTRICITY METERS
Every 10 years, in accordance with Measurements Canada, all our electricity meters are calibrated.  This process includes removing and installing newly calibrated meters.  Over the next number of months, you can expect our meter to be replaced and you will receive an invoice for the electricity used up to that date.
MARINA POLICIES
With the busy season in full swing, please remember to follow the Reed Point Marina policies and procedures.  We are a family oriented marina and wish to respect our neighbours by keeping our docks clutter-free and quiet.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
