Gospel Contemplations in the Ignatian Tradition
Gospel Contemplation offers an opportunity to experience the gospel stories in new ways that touch at the very depths of the whole of our being. It meets us where we are. It is imaginative work, not in the sense of fantasy, but in the realness of Spirit led guidance, reflection, and prayer. It is work that deepens intimacy with God, ourselves, and one another, doing so in a way that powerfully supports the growth of the inner....outer...inner...
outer.... flow of spiritual growth. The growth of discipleship.
Will you join us? We will be using the gospel readings of the given Sunday as our guiding texts,
which may well touch on your experience of our communal worship on Sunday
mornings as well.

Shine A Light Participated in the Fun at the Cool Girls Christmas Celebration
Did you know that Shine A Light, with its mission to increase awareness of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking ("DMST"), is a sponsor of Cool Girls of Atlanta? T
here are more girls living in poverty in Atlanta than in any other city in the United States. Cool Girls teaches, encourages and supports our cool girls to make positive choices, avoid risky behaviors, stay in school and lead healthy lives. We believe that the circumstances of today aren't indicative of what a girl will do tomorrow. Cool Girls works every day to change the world, one girl at a time.
While
the snow stopped the Cool Girls' Christmas Celebration in December, it was Christmas in January for 200 cool girls ages seven to seventeen. There were blings and things and gloves and scarves and games and nail polish for all. Lunch sponsored by Chic-fil-A, making slime, filling cereal bags for the homeless, and taking home a large blue bag of goodies, all made for a happy time for every girl.
Catherine Renaud participated in the Christmas Celebration this year, during which Cool Girls recognized our ministry along with
other sponsors (including Delta Airlines, Sun Trust, and Bank of America). Volunteers from Shine a Light and other sponsors worked together to distribute gifts. So much fun and so much good made our hearts sing. Let's make this an annual Shine A Light event!

St. Patrick's Music Update
We are pleased to announce that Paul Tate will be directing the choir and instrumentalists through mid-April. Paul is eager to work with us and welcomes all who are interested to join for rehearsals on Sundays at 9:30am. He is also planning rehearsals in preparation for Lent and Easter services from 7:15-9pm on the following Wednesdays: 2/28, 3/14 and 3/28. Please reach out to Paul with any questions.

luia Class fashioned an ark and had part of their lesson with the animals!

Children and the 10:30 AM Sunday Service:
We welcome and encourage all ages to be a part of the activities and worship at Saint Patrick's. Children multi-task very well and there is a table of quiet activities in the office hallway for use during the 10:30
Sunday service.

Guest Presenter: The Rev. Mary Demmler
The Rev. Mary Demmler is the rector of Saint James in Clayton and is the middle school chaplain at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School. Mary+ lives on the Rabun Gap campus with her husband Derek, who is a high school humanities teacher, and their three children, Hannah (9), Bailey, (8), and William (5). Mary+ grew up in Gainesville, Georgia on her family's farm and attended Lakeview Academy. She graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BA in Religion then completed her Masters of Divinity studies at Duke University. She is excited to be attending General Convention this summer as one of the clergy delegates for the Diocese of Atlanta. In addition to her church and school work, Mary+ loves to cook with people of different religious and cultural backgrounds as a part of her Prayerful Kitchen project. She regularly leads vestry retreats, quiet days, and workshops around the diocese.

Guest Presenter: The Rev. Spenser D. Simrill
The Rev. Spenser D. Simrill has served congregations in Louisville, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Minneapolis. He and his wife, Stuart, lived at Koinonia Farm as Habitat for Humanity was birthed there (1974-1978). He currently serves as Chaplain to Canterbury Court, an Episcopal Retirement Center. He also is a member of The Beloved Community to Dismantle Racism in the Diocese of Atlanta.
The compassion, hospitality, and grace of Jesus Christ for ALL humanity with purpose, meaning and call motivates him. Dancing in the Spirit, (there is no problem that dancing can't solve) being present with the hopes and struggles of the world in community, believing that "faith is turning dreams into deeds" and "betting one's life on unseen realities" are life giving practices for him.
He is blessed with four children, two grandchildren (twins) and a grandbaby boy due March 1. Thanks be to God!

Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross is a liturgical way to reenact Jesus' journey as a meditation and an act of devotion. In remembering, we are making our own journey.
Saint Patrick's offers two evenings to share this journey:
Friday,
March 2, 6:00 PM - The artists present a visual representation of the stations that gives us insight into the process
A book of this year's stations will be available at this service. It contains a picture of each station
as well as a write-up of the station by the artist.
Friday, March 23, 6:00 PM - The Family Stations offer a reenactment of Jesus' last week beginning with Passover. We use costumes and actors to tell the story as we
move around the church. Both stations are
appropriate
for all ages, however, our youngest members might enjoy this evening better.

Acolyte Training

An acolyte training session, for new or returning acolytes, will be held on

, from 9 AM - 12 Noon. A light breakfast will be served at
9 AM.
This ministry is open to children and youth at least 8 years old and in 3rd grade. Please contact Dana Dolan to confirm that you are coming.
