Water Saving Tip
Did you know that bathrooms are the biggest water users in your home, accounting for more than half of all indoor water use? By giving your bathroom a "mini-makeover" with a WaterSense labeled showerhead, faucet, or toilet, your household can save enough water every year to wash six months' worth of laundry! Find the list of WaterSense labeled fixtures at www.epa.gov/watersense. Check out Folsom's high-efficiency toilet rebates on the City's website . Need help or have a question? Call or email Folsom's Water Conservation Team at 916-461-6174 or [email protected] .

The workshops take place at Lew Howard Park, 7100 Baldwin Dam Road. At the end of each workshop, participants receive their choice of a compost bin at a discounted rate or a mulching lawnmower rebate offer of $25. Pre-registration is required. Doggie Doo Dos and Don'ts
Please remember to always "scoop the poop" and dispose of pet waste properly. Dog and cat waste left on the ground washes into local waterways and causes problems with:

Human and Pet Health
Giardia
Roundworms
Salmonella
Other viruses and parasites

Water Quality
Algae and aquatic weeds
Reduced oxygen for fish
Unsafe recreational areas for fishing or enjoying

What Can I Do?
  1. Bring It! Carry a biodegradable plastic or paper bag when you walk your dog.
  2. Scoop it! Use the baggie like a glove, scoop the poop, invert and seal the bag tightly.
  3. Toss It! Place pet waste in your garbage can. Don't put pet waste in your green waste cart, blue recycling carts or compost bins.
