Research: The Impact of The First Tee 
Research

Our national home office has completed research with teens and alumni that shows that The First Tee's youth development program has a lasting impact, creating better citizens and lifelong golfers in the process.

BETTER CITIZENS
  • 91% of alumni engaged in community service while in The First Tee.
  • 72% continued after their time in the program ended.
  • These numbers are significant compared to the 22% of the US citizens between ages 16 and 24 participating in community service.
LIFELONG GOLFERS
  • 96% of teens in our program say their golf skills have improved
  • 90% of our alumni consider themselves lifelong golfers.

This long winter will (thankfully!) come to an end soon and  our spring  session will begin in mid-April. We're excited to welcome new and returning faces back to Fairway Hills and our affiliate courses! This year, we  encourage all parents to register online -- check out our schedules for spring, summer and fall , and sign up your child(red) now open for any or all of the three 2018 sessions.

Maryland Golf Show at Turf Valley to Benefit The First Tee

Turf Valley Resort will be hosting the first annual Maryland Golf Show on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Tickets to the event will be $10 per person, and a portion of proceeds will benefit The First Tee of Howard County. Our chapter will also have a booth at the show with demonstrations and the opportunity to enroll in upcoming sessions. Please spread the word to any friends who are interested in learning more about The First Tee, and stop by for a fun day for golf enthusiasts!

2018 Taste
Our 11th Annual Taste for the First Tee is approaching on Thursday, April 26 from 6pm-9pm at Turf Valley-- tickets are available online for $50 each, which includes dinner, open bar and live music! We will also have some outstanding live and silent auction items. 

If your business or group is looking for a way to support our unique youth development program this year while gaining exposure among local community leaders, a sponsorship could be the perfect opportunity. 

January Honor Roll Report Cards 

Twice a year, The First Tee nationally recognizes participants for outstanding academic achievement. We invite parents to  use a new form on our website  to submit your child's information if (s)he has earned A/B Honor Roll (As and/or Bs) on his/her January report card. We will then recognize your child's achievement with a certificate signed by The First Tee's CEO.
