ANGELL FAMILY THIS YEAR'S DRIVE CHAIRS

For the second year in a row, Marshfield Area United Way is thrilled to announce a family will lead the United Way Campaign. Jason and Kim Angell, and their children Parker and Addison (aka Addie), will serve as Campaign Drive Chairs this fall.

Jason and Kim, both natives of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, have been members of the Marshfield community for the past nine years. Jason is the Director of Development Services for the City of Marshfield and Kim is an X-ray Technologist at the hospital. Parker, 10, and Addie, 8, attend Washington Elementary School. Both children enjoy playing sports, being outdoors and hanging out with their friends.

At first, the family felt conflicted about the opportunity to be Drive Chairs for the United Way Campaign. "We have always been ones to try and offer our assistance to others in any way possible, and we are trying to raise our kids with the same understanding, but with our (and our children's) busy schedules and the big shoes left to fill by the Holm Family and Drive Chairs before them, left us feeling overwhelmed," said Kim Angell. MAKING AN IMPACT...

We had a child in elementary that was on the ready to be matched list for almost 3 years and his older brother was matched. This made it hard for the child to see his brother go and hang out with his Big, when he wanted one so bad. After meeting, with the child and family to renew paperwork, I reached out to a community member that I felt would be a great Big for this child. The child was finally matched with this individual and they have been doing great since. They love doing all sorts of things like going to the movies, zoo, cultural fair and anything else they can dream up. The parent has commented that she couldn't have picked out a better person for her son.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood County's mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Your gift to United Way is helping children in our community receive the mentorships, guidance and friendships that are shaping their futures and making a positive impact on their lives. Your generosity is making a difference.
