The last edition of Counseling Corner for the 2016-2017 school year has arrived. What an amazing year! I am so blessed and humbled that God has placed me in such a wonderful school. Thank you for allowing me into your life and your family's life. May God bless you and keep you safe this summer!

2017-2018 Student Schedules
Student schedules for the 2017-2018 school year are no longer visible in Aeries. On July 5, you will be able to log in to your Aeries Student Portal and view your final schedule. The Counseling Department is working diligently to fulfill all schedule change requests. While course requests are not guaranteed, counselors do make every effort to create viable schedules for all students. You will be notified once changes have been made. Also, please be on the lookout for an email from me on July 5 regarding our new book company and how to place your textbook orders for each of your classes.
AP/Honors Summer Homework
All AP classes and Honors English classes have summer work that must be completed prior to the first day of class! Click here for summer assignments. Please contact the teacher directly, if you have any questions regarding the assignment.
Dual Credit Transcripts

Graduation Rehearsal
The class of 2017 will be rehearsing graduation on Friday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Saddleback church. All graduates are expected to attend rehearsal. Click here to view a map of Saddleback church.
Book Buyback
Our  annual book buyback is on Wednesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 8  from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Saints CafĂ©. At that time you can return rented books and sell back purchased books.  
Summer Recommendations for Rising SOPHOMORES
  • National Honor Society Applications - Students who are interested in seeking acceptance into Crean Lutheran's Chapter of the National Honor Society must be Sophomores or Juniors with a minimum cumulative weighted academic GPA of 3.80 or higher.  Additionally, students that apply must reflect the four central tenets of the National Honor Society through documented evidence of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Admission into the National Honor Society is stringent, and it is never too early to begin preparations for admission to the National Honor Society.
  • Resume - Make sure that you are updating your resume each year!
  • Four-Year Planning - You'll want to fill in the courses that you completed this year, and fill out the courses you plan to take next year. You may plan for the years ahead as well. Click here for a template.
  • Congressional Award- While CLHS does not require community service, community service is strongly recommended for college applications. The Congressional Award requires 400 hours of volunteer work, 200 hours of personal development, 200 hours of physical fitness, and a 5 day and 4 night expedition (camping trip in shelter or tent planned and executed by student) or exploration (cultural experience planned and executed by student).  The award also requires these activities to take place over a 24-month period.  If you are interested in learning more, click here.
Summer Recommendations for Rising JUNIORS
  • Princeton Review SAT or ACT Prep!- The summer between sophomore and junior year is the recommended time to sign up for either the SAT or ACT prep course. Click here to learn more.

  • Finalize College List (August) - Students are encouraged to finalize a list of colleges to which they will be applying so that they are prepared for the College Application Boot Camp.
  • College Application Boot Camp (August) - A one week boot camp where counselors will work with Seniors on completing all the components of the Common Application and the UC application. Also, we will cover both essay prompts and supplemental questions for each college.
  • Brag Sheet- If the college(s) that you are applying to require Letters of Recommendation, complete the Brag Sheet and turn it in to your Counselor by October 1.
  • Resume - Make sure that you are updating your resume each year!
