Marriage and Money: The wedding industry is big business for our region
The decision to get married is a big one - and often, an expensive one. Weddings are big investments and big business for our regional economy.  Nationwide, there were 2.21 million weddings in 2016, with an average cost of $26,720, for a total spend of $59,086,336,800, according to Th­e Wedding Report.  In Barnstable County in 2017, according to the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, there were 1,532 weddings, with an average cost per wedding of $34,681 and total industry sales of $53,131,292 .   Read more here.  

Registration now open for CCYP's 3rd Annual 
Shape Your Cape Summit
Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP), a nonprofit organization that works to connect, engage, and advance Cape Cod's young workforce and future leaders, has announced the 3rd Annual Shape Your Cape Summit, presented with generous support from Cape Cod Healthcare. The event will take place on April 5, from 8 AM to 5 PM at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel (350 Quaker Rd, North Falmouth).  Read more here.

South Shore Chamber of Commerce announces creation of EAT South Shore
The South Shore Chamber of Commerce has announced EAT South Shore, a new partnership between the Chamber and a dedicated group of local restaurant owners and chefs with a mission to showcase the South Shore's culinary scene.  EAT South Shore provides a platform to bring awareness of the many outstanding dining establishments in the South Shore region.  Read more here.
Executive Director Beth Wade to step down from CHAMP Homes in June
CHAMP Homes has announced that Beth Wade will step down as its Executive Director on June 30, 2018. CHAMP Homes was established in 1991 and since then has helped over 2,600 individuals on Cape Cod. It currently provides housing to up to 50 residents, aged 18 to 80.  Read more here.
