A Snapshot of Our Most Recent Project Work
Clarke County (Athens, GA) School District Student Code of Conduct Is Passed
Rob Rhodes' work contributed to the unanimous approval of the new Student Code of Conduct for Athens/Clarke County public schools in May.This new code supports the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, an effective and systemic strategy for dismantling the School to Prison Pipeline.
Juvenile Code Assessment Project
With lead pro bono firms Kilpatrick Townsend and Nelson Mullins at the helm, interviews of more than 200 stakeholders are almost completed, the data are being analyzed and progress is being made toward a release of the summary report in late summer.   See all firms/companies participating in pro bono for this project.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS Update)
GA Appleseed was included among the invited stakeholders to attend three important PBIS meetings this spring - one focused on Bibb County Schools, another on schools in Albany, Georgia and the third focused on the statewide PBIS effort.  GA Appleseed's "Keeping Kids in Class Toolkit" was recognized as an important component in PBIS trainings conducted in school districts across the state.

We support the State's decision to increase the PBIS training and support budget by more than $1.2M for Fiscal Year 2018, allotted to PBIS specialists and staff in our public schools.
