Staff Update

St. Anthony Park Community Council (SAPCC) is pleased to welcome two new staff members on its team joining Executive Director Suyapa Miranda. To find out more background information please check out our website.

Sarah Goodspeed joins SAPCC as interim Operations and Outreach Coordinator, bringing years of experience connecting diverse communities with public decision making processes and resources. She has served a number of nonprofit and government roles and leadership with local organizations advocating for socially and environmentally sustainable policies. Sarah is deeply committed to building strong and equitable neighborhoods in the Twin Cities. Sarah's commitment to driving change through community leadership and knowledge in sustainability, food justice, and community development will be valuable to our exciting programs at SAPCC.

Arleigh Truesdale serves SAPCC this summer as a Community Engagement Intern. She is a rising junior pursuing Environmental Studies and Sociology/Anthropology at St. Olaf College. Having previously interned with Environment Minnesota, she aims to pursue issues of sustainable justice within the community. Having grown up in a Chicago neighborhood famous for its diversity, but failing in its ability to facilitate community collaboration, she is eager to engage Saint Anthony Park community members in district planning.

Engagement at St. Anthony Park Art Festival, Avalon Job Fair and more!

St. Anthony Park Community Council was excited to participate once again at the St. Anthony Park Art Festival on June 3. This year we added special community engagement opportunities around our 10-year planning and transportation at the SAPCC table. We had beautiful weather this year and heard great ideas from our neighbors on what they'd like to see in St. Anthony Park.

Thank you to volunteers who spoke with community members throughout the day and sought feedback from neighbors on how they envision the future of St. Anthony Park as we begin our 10-year comprehensive planning outreach.  We also gathered more exciting ideas from students in our community at the following week's Job Fair at Avalon Charter School.

Look for volunteers from SAPCC throughout the community at Fourth in the Park and other upcoming events to give your input to help shape our neighborhood! St. Anthony Park Community Council is continuing its community engagement process to build a strong plan that supports all in our community.

Do you have ideas to include in the 10 year plan? Do you want to comment on what makes our neighborhood great or things to improve? There  will  be many opportunities to share throughout this process, contact Sarah for more information at sarah@sapcc.org.
