OSC18 call for presenters
Do you have knowledge to share that can keep workplaces safe and healthy?
If so, you could be a presenter at BWC's Ohio Safety Congress & Expo 2018 (OSC18), the nation's largest occupational-focused safety and health event. We're now accepting presentation proposals for this multi-day event, scheduled for March 7 - 9, 2018, in Columbus.

We are seeking one-hour educational sessions, panel discussions and live demonstrations as well as three-hour and six-hour workshops. For OSC18, we are particularly interested in topics related to slips, trips and falls, overexertion, and motor vehicle accidents. These injury types represent more than 60 percent of Ohio's workplace injuries.

We're accepting applications until July 31. For application guidelines and to register, visit our call for presentations site. Want to get a glimpse of the event? Take a look back at our OSC17 Twitter recap.

Employers: $1 billion headed your way in July
Ohio's economy will get a big boost in July. That's when BWC will send $1 billion in rebates to eligible Ohio employers, the first part of The Third Billion Back plan that was announced in March.

Eligible employers will receive checks that total 66 percent of their premiums for the policy year that ended June 30, 2016 (calendar year 2015 for public employers). Private employers who participate in a Group Retrospective rating program will receive their rebates in the fall.
The entire plan includes more than just rebates. We're also planning new health and safety initiatives with a $44 million investment to create a healthier workforce and a culture of safety in every Ohio workplace.
Watch for details to come regarding this plan to help bring Ohio workers home safely to their families and communities after every shift.
