Sharing Our Faith - Sr. Mara Anne Palomares, O.P.
Our hearts are heavy with sadness at the loss of Sister Mara Anne. She loved helping at St. Ignatius and came here twice per week to work with the children, getting them ready for Family Masses as well as Mass each Wednesday. In her years here as a teacher, as principal, and most recently as Religion Coordinator, she was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. She found the good in everyone. The St. Ignatius community now has a special angel to watch over us all.
The following is the official statement from the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose:

Sister Mara Anne Palomares passed away on February 20, 2018. Born March 8, 1940, S. Mara Anne taught grades 2 through 8 at St. Anthony's in San Francisco, St. Catherine's Academy, St. Frances Cabrini in San Jose, and St. Ignatius School. She served as principal at St. Callistus School, St. Ignatius School, and San Gabriel Mission Elementary for a total of 28 years. She also served on the Administrative team at St. Catherine's for 12 years. She enjoyed traveling, her favorite destination being Ireland.
There will be a Mass of Resurrection on Monday, February 26 at 7:30PM in the Annunciation Chapel at San Gabriel Parish followed by a reception.
Services are scheduled at the Fremont Motherhouse for March 1. For further information, please contact rosemarie@msjdominicans.org

Catholic Schools Parent Survey

Dear Falcon Families,
PLEASE BE SURE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SURVEY!
Something BIG is happening - at our school and beyond. We’re going to share how incredible our Catholic school and others in the Archdiocese of LA are. But before that happens, we need some feedback (but there are great prizes!).
First - we need to hear from YOU. The goal of the survey is to better understand what you value the most in your child’s education, and the results will be used to help understand why you chose our school and make improvements for the future.
Second - we need to hear from your friends. Any of your peer parents with school-aged children who do not attend a Catholic School. We need to understand what they value in the education of their children. Please text and email this survey to your friends, and share it on your social media channels.
If our school is one of the top 3 schools to have the most Catholic Parents in the LA, Santa Barbara or Ventura counties complete the survey - we could win a grant up to $3,000. So, please share with any Catholic parent in our area you can think of!
