Happy 60th Anniversary
60 years Helping MD's Take Care of Texans

Congratulations to TSMA for celebrating 60 years of continuing to help MD's Take Care of Texans!  We hope that every member has taken a few moments to remember what this means....Our profession has been around for 60+ years and has a professional organization to support our scope of practice and our mission.  TSMA has been honored to have had three of our very own members serve as past AAMA Presidents.  Our organization is built on the STRONG backs of the great leaders and many other that have come before us.  As enter into the 60th year of TSMA we are faced with many obstacles including trying to find new ways to help us grow and encourage the members to support us and join us.  One of the hardest obstacles that we are facing include NEW leaders that have those leadership qualities that are need to help this organization move forward and grow, while following the rules and overcoming objections for others while we make changes.  We need leaders who are flexible, open minded, compassionate and thoughtful.  We are also in need of mentors that can be encouraging, supportive and RESPECTFUL.  Our mentors must be willing to allow us to make the mistakes and learn from those mistakes and then help us correct them with the gentle guidance only they can provide.

In order for this organization to have another successful 60 years we must all come together as a team, support the mission of the set forth by the new board and work hard to show everyone out there why TSMA MEMBERS ARE THE DIAMONDS IN HEALTHCARE.

TSMA 60th Annual Conference
What did you miss

The TSMA 60th Annual Education Conference was a huge hit!  We had great education topics and amazing networking opportunities with some great vendors.  Houston Methodist, UTMB, and Addison Healthcare were some of the employers that joined us for this fantastic event.  These three employers are in need of quality CMA's (or RMA's), so we hope that you had an opportunity to spend a few moments.  Friday night brought us Hot Dogs, Sliders, and French Fries along with lots of cool SOCKS at the Welcome Sock Hop.  Saturday evening was a night of elegance where we had the opportunity to honor all of those around us for what they do.  Our Awards Banquet brought out 11 PAST TSMA presidents, with all three of our TEXAS PAST AAMA Presidents: Jo Estrada, Geneva Straughan, and Ann Naegele.  TSMA even received a special Congressional Honor presented by Lanie Brown, Congressman Babins Community Relations Director.  Thank you to the amazing member from Bay Area for a fantastic Conference. Your time and dedication to this event was evident in everything that was done.

Some great pictures were taken for this event by one of our sponsors photographer Elizabeth McCarty.  Click here for the pictures.  If you like something you see please feel free to purchase one, two or three or four of them.
