La Ballona Principal Takes Pies to the Face
La Ballona Principal Jennifer Slabbinck kicked off the school's APEX Fun Run program on February 5 with pies in the face (25 to be exact) and a banana suit for the rest of the day!

That's the type of spirit and involvement that makes things fun for our students. Thanks, Jennifer, for taking one (or 25) for the team!
Support CCUSD Schools, Run the Screenland 5K
Run with your family and friends through exciting downtown Culver City, along Culver and Washington Boulevards and help raise money for CCUSD schools.

Proceeds from the March 4 race will benefit the Culver City Education Foundation and its efforts to improve our schools.

Start on Culver Boulevard and Main Street – “The Shortest Main Street in the U.S.” –
Run past the Historic Culver Hotel where the Munchkins stayed while filming “The Wizard of Oz” down the street at the former MGM, now Sony Pictures. Follow the course as it winds down Culver and Washington Boulevards! Pass near Culver City’s own Metro Expo Line station which is being redeveloped as Ivy Station as an exciting mixed use facility with shops, restaurants, a hotel and ample parking for all.
Culver City is truly “The Heart of Screenland,” so come in costume representing your favorite movie character. Start under the Rainbow and finish on the Red Carpet into Media Park where you will join fellow finishers to celebrate your accomplishment. Wear your finisher medal proudly.

CCHS ASB Ramping Up Culver for a Cause Run
On April 14, CCHS Associated Student Body will be hosting the Culver for a Cause Charity Run for the City of Culver City on the CCHS campus. Proceeds will be directed towards the CCUSD Culver Closet, which helps provide clothing and toiletry items to CCUSD families in need. Some proceeds will also be donated to help Peruvian women gain an access to education because we believe that it is important for our community members, who are lucky enough to have easy access to education, to support those in developing areas who cannot afford to attend school.

The Run will begin and finish at the Culver City High School track, and will also run through CCMS and Farragut Elementary School. The event will begin at 10am on April 14.
There will be entertainment, food, T-shirts, and medals. If you are a part of an organization or business and are interested in becoming a vendor or sponsor, this event will be a great opportunity for public advertisement.
