VOLUNTEERING
Join the ICS PTSA Board
The ICS PTSA is inviting board member nominations for the 2018/19 school year for a Co-President board position.

Here is what one of our current Co-Presidents, Oystein Harsvik, has to say about the experience:
" I've served four years on the ICS PTSA board: two as co-treasurer, two as president/co-president. It has been a really rewarding experience. First and foremost you get to see close up what an awesome student body the school has. You also get to work closely with faculty and administration and see their dedication to provide the strong learning environment we have at ICS. ICS was founded by parents and the PTSA is a vital part in the school community.
As the new principal settles in her role, the PTSA can help shape the agenda for the school to ensure ICS remains a premier choice school in the district. That's why you should volunteer for the board.

Please submit your name or references to [email protected]. For a detailed job description, see the ICS PTSA website.

Chaperone at the HOSA Conference in Spokane
The ICS Health Occupations Students of America chapter needs parent chaperones to drive students to the State Leadership Conference in Spokane, March 15th-17th. All costs including food, hotels, and transportation will be covered by the club. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to cover all 30 volunteer hours with one event! If you're interested or have any questions, please feel free to email Mr. McFaul
Junior Parents: Get Ready for Graduation Planning
Any parent with a student in 11th grade should come to the Lyceum on Tuesday, February 20th, 6-7 p.m. for a meeting to learn about our responsibility to plan and run graduation for this year's seniors. We also are responsible for selecting the June 2019 graduation ceremony and after-graduation party venues. Paul Plank and the graduation committee will lead the discussion about how we will work together to provide a memorable graduation experience for this year's seniors and our children next year. We look forward to seeing you after the break!
Parents of 9th, 10th Graders: You're Needed for Graduation
Graduation at ICS typically is run jointly by ICS staff and the 11th grade parents. But this year's senior class is much larger than the junior class, and we need of 9th and 10th grade parents to serve as ushers or to bring food to the pre-graduation lunch and post-graduation reception. You will receive volunteer hours and get a glimpse of the graduation experience at ICS. Please sign up here.
AP Registration Begins February 21st
You can get AP Registration packets from your AP teacher or the counseling office starting February 20th. Here are some things to keep in mind:
  • AP registration is $96 per test this year. If cost is an issue for you, please see Ms. Flores, as there are fee reductions available for students on free/reduced lunch.
  • You can register for up to 7 tests on one envelope.
  • Make sure you use the full name of your AP Class - for example, AP Language and Composition, rather than AP English.
  • You must register for your AP test by March 7th at 1 pm. NOTE: Ms. Flores will be out on the 7th at a conference, so registering before March 7th is very important and strongly encouraged.
  • If you have testing accommodations, please connect with Ms. Haley or Ms. Flores to confirm by February 7th.
  • This year there is once again an online option for registration. The directions will be in your registration packets. If you register on line, you must print out a copy of your receipt and turn it in to Ms. Austin along with your registration envelope in order to guarantee that your test will be ordered.
If you have any questions, please see your AP teacher or April Flores.
