| Cleansing of the Cars June 11th |
Help raise money for the mission trip and come out of worship to a clean car? You betcha! ELC's Youth are having their annual car wash on Sunday, June 11th from 9am-1pm. Funds raised will help 21 people do God's work in East Moline this July. So, come and be washed by the water!

| One Service at 10am Over the Summer |
From now on, there will be one service at 10am on Sundays until September. Saturday service remains the same.

Looking for volunteers to go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository to benefit the New Hope Community Food Pantry on Saturday morning, June 17th. We leave ELC at 7:30am and caravan to the Depository. Our work will finish at 11:15am. We will meet individuals from other churches and community groups all earning food credit dollars. These earned credits allow New Hope to "purchase" food for the needy in the community.
Contact Ruth Ann Chaffee at [email protected] with questions or to sign up for the June trip. We plan to go to the Depository once a month but there will be no visit in July. Please join us!

 Got summer on the brain? Help us get the word out for VBS at the Fourth of July parade! We need people to put candy on flyers beforehand, pass out flyers and candy the day of, and decorate and sit on our "float"! This is an essential way to reach out to our community!! If you're interested, contact Pastor Christina ([email protected].)

 Check out the VBS Donations board in Fellowship Hall! Take a tag from the board, write your name down on the paper, and grab the items the next time you're at the store. All items need to be returned to church by Sunday, July 23rd. Thank you for keeping our costs down, and making sure that all of our VBS children are well-cared for!

| Ice Cream, Ice Cream, Ice Cream |

Desserts galore filled several tables in Fellowship Hall with pies, brownies, cakes, and seven gallons of ice cream at last Saturday's Ice Cream Social. People listened to the music of The Strictly Jug Nuts, a 1960s band whose members sang songs of yesteryear as they strummed banjos, guitars, ukuleles, etc.
As with any such gathering, the planning started weeks in advance. Carol Beu created posters, Pastor Christina collected the names of volunteers, Richard Schabowski and Larry Nelson donated money for ice cream. It was an unexpected surprise.
Jennifer Keller purchased paper goods and food items, Steve McChesney was our emcee; and countless people volunteered their time to set up, serve, and clean up -- Ruth Ann Chaffee, Nancy Robinson, Susan and Richard Schabowski, Kim Manning, Jennifer Kendzior, ELC's Youth Ministry, and Boy Scout Troop 957, just to name a few. Chris Keller and Mike Ford spent the afternoon with us, helping to string lights and set up for the event.
Then there were all the people who brought those wonderful desserts that filled the kitchen and our serving tables.
Thank you, everyone, for your helping hands and your contributions. The evening brought our church family and friends together, held as part of our celebration of the 500th year of the Reformation.

Saturday, July 1st, 2pm-4pm - Feed My Starving Children
We'll head up to Schaumburg to pack meals for children in need all around the world. We have 20 spots available, and will need some additional drivers.

Everyone in 6th grade and up is encouraged to help and lead at Maker Fun Factory as we learn that we're created by God and built for a purpose!
