Celebrate Pastor Eve's Ministry Sunday
We invite you to celebrate Rev. Eve Williams' ministry this Sunday, June 11 after each of our worship services. Join us in the Fellowship Center following the 9:30 am service, and at the back of the chapel after the  8 or 11 am services. You're invited to donate a love gift in thanks for Pastor Eve and as a going away gift for her and her son, William.
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

I’m not going to lie. Packing is no fun. There, it’s out there. I’ve said it. But if there was anything that could even remotely close in on a “positive” about packing and moving, it is the fact that it unearths a lot of the things that you forgot you had…and maybe wonder why you kept.

In the midst of this move, I found something that I picked up somewhere in my wanderings: a wall hanging with the words, “Home is where your story begins”. It’s one of those pithy sayings with which I have a love/hate relationship, but it also caused me to stop and think at this particular moment in my journey. A human being is comprised of so many stories; does that mean then that we have just as many homes?

What makes a home? Family? Friends? Security? Love? Comfort? Support? Opportunity to learn and the challenge to grow?

When I think about my PVUMC family, I check all of those boxes. This has been a home and family for...

Children are our Future. Help Lead them this Summer at Sunday Camp.
Sunday Summer Camp is in full swing from now until August 13. PVUMC offers weekly summer Sunday classes for preschoolers-4th graders. It's a more relaxed time of year, and we encourage our regular teachers to take a well-deserved break while encouraging others who love children and want to share their faith with children to help lead during the summer. Please check your schedule and sign up by emailing Rev. Brenda Smith. Just once or twice will help a lot, and you'll be working with others as a team.

Worship and Fellowship at PVUMC

Spring 2017 Church Directory
We’re excited to announce that the new Spring 2017 edition of our church directory has arrived. Families who were photographed for the directory, and those who submitted photos, receive a free directory. Those not pictured, but who are part of the roster, may purchase a copy of the directory for $10 after the initial distribution on Sunday, June 11. Look for Martha Rinne who will be in the Fellowship Center 8:45-9:30 am and 10:30 am-12:15 pm.  If you can't be there Sunday, stop by the church office to pick up your copy during the week. The office will be open 9 am-5 pm, Monday-Thursday and 9 am-12 noon on Fridays. Thank you for helping us create community at PVUMC.
You're Invited to Participate in the 2017 Sermon Survey
Paradise Valley United Methodist Church recently emailed a survey on behalf of Senior Pastor Dave Summers to solicit input from our members and constituents on upcoming sermon topics. The last time we surveyed our membership was June 2014. Pastor Dave hopes you will help provide direction on the kinds of messages he and the rest of the clergy will preach from the pulpit this fall and beyond. What keeps you rooted in the Word? How do you grow in your relationship with God and with others in our faith community and beyond? The survey will be open until June 20. Please participate if you can.

Thank you for subscribing. Update your profile/ email preferences below.
Church Office Summer Hours and Annual Conference
The Pastor/Staff/Parish Relations Committee (PSPRC) has decided to expand use of flex time for our administrative staff. “It’s one way to reward our hard-working staff,” PSPRC Chair Jim Bateman said. As a result of realigned schedules, the church office will be closed on Friday afternoons for the summer, effective immediately. Church Administrator Mickey Price said staff would have more flexibility in designing their workweeks while still meeting the expectations of the church. A day porter will be on campus to handle all scheduled events on Fridays. The change will be in place through Friday, September 1. Summer Hours will be 9 am-5 pm, Monday-Thursday and 9 am-12 noon, Fridays.
The Clergy will be at Annual Conference, June 15-18, and Rev. Brenda Smith will be ordained at a worship service on Saturday, June 17. The next Sunday, we'll have our own annual meeting, the Church Charge Conference on Sunday, June 25Read More.
