The Iowa Finance Authority is requesting 2018 calendar year combined applications for the Iowa Statewide Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program and the Shelter Assistance Fund (SAF) program.
ESG is a federal program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, designed to assist people to quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness. Eligible categories of assistance include Rapid Re-housing, Shelter, Street Outreach and Homelessness Prevention. Eligible applicants include units of general purpose local government and private nonprofit organizations.
SAF is a state program that supports the operations of homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters and provides essential services for persons experiencing homelessness.
Total funding available for this competition is approximately $2.3 million in ESG funds and $1 million in SAF funds. Applicants may request from $20,000 to $200,000. The deadline for applications is Friday, July 21, 2017, at 4:30 p.m.
