Counselor recommendations are a key part of each student's college applications, and IWA's goal is to provide personal, detailed and thoughtful counselor recommendations, but to do this we need your help. Please visit this link to complete a survey about your daughter's growth at IWA.   Please complete this survey by June 2, 2017. Mrs. Ellahham will use your responses to create the best counselor recommendation possible to support your daughter's application.
Are you doing anything cool this summer?
As many of you know, we like to spread the word about all the big and small achievements of our girls through our IWA social media pages, our website, and The Word Magazine.  During the summer we hoped to feature some of the wonderful internships and summer programs our students are doing. For those students who have a cool summer activity happening, we'd love to hear about it! Please send a photo, a brief description and a quote from the student (telling us why she is doing it or what she is enjoying etc.) to Catherine The dinger at   [email protected].

2017-2018 Schedules
Your daughter's 2017 - 2018 course schedule is available for viewing on NetClassroom. There are a couple of details you should keep in mind as you and your daughter view her schedule:
  • Core classes have been verified by your daughter's current core teachers, so the placement on her schedule reflects the class she qualifies to take next year.
  • We have done our best to enroll her in the electives of her choice; however, sometimes her top choices are not available at the times she can take electives based on the times of her core classes. In those cases, we have enrolled her in other suitable electives that help her meet her graduation requirements.
  • Know that during the summer, the periods she is enrolled in classes could change as we work to balance class sizes, but we will not change the courses she's in without talking to the student.

Super Bus Drawing!  And the winner is...
Super Bowl LI has come and gone.  But, after hours of setting up our designated merchandise booths, working at the NFL Shop at the George R. Brown, and the 17 hour work shift on Superbowl Sunday it was all worth it!  After the dust settled,  IWA raised $40,600.00 towards a new bus!  All 100 names of the students, parents, and many family members that worked were put into a drawing for a pair of tickets to an upcoming Texans game in 2017.  Athletic Booster Club executive board member, Michelle Garcia, graciously donated these tickets for the SuperBus event. The lucky winner is Adrianna Ponce (aunt of Mariana Ochoa, Class of 2017). Congratulations!!
