Embrace brevity! In Literary Snapshots: Prose Writing in Brief (
6/8) we will explore stories and memoirs that are under 1,000 words, by examining samples of both flash fiction and mico-memoirs.
In our discussion we will take note of how essential details build to expand a character and event, which in turn brings us to the core of a piece more immediately than regular prose. We'll then practice creating short pieces of our own and discuss the journals interested in publishing these brief and mighty forms.
