Beef Filet Kabob
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 - 8 oz. Filets - cut into 1 ounce medallions
Montreal steak season
1 - Yellow Squash, cut into ½ round slices
1 - Zucchini Squash, cut into ½ round slices
1 - Button Mushrooms
1 - Red Bell Pepper, cored and cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1 - Red Onion - cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1 - Tomato - washed, cored and cut into wedges
Balsamic Glaze
Cilantro Sprig
Parsley - Chopped
4 - Wooden Skewers
Preparation:
Soak skewers prior to grilling to prevent them from burning on the grill. Cut all ingredients as directed. Preheat indoor or outdoor grill to medium/high temperature. Thread the filet medallions onto the skewers (8 each). Season generously with the Montreal steak seasoning and place on the grill. Grill to desired temperature, approximately 5-6 minutes for medium with a light pick center. Thread the vegetables on a separate skewer alternating, mushroom, zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, red pepper and tomato. Season generously with Montreal steak seasoning. Mushrooms will be on each end of the skewer. Cook vegetables on grill until lightly charred all over, turning occasionally, about 10 minutes.
Place filet and vegetables on a plate and remove skewers. Drizzle with balsamic glaze, garnish with Cilantro sprig and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with Parmesan Mashed Potatoes.

Grab your Flippers folks! This year we are going UNDER THE SEA! Our sand artists will be bringing the ocean wildlife to Austin Landing while carving your favorite sea animals! Be on the lookout for some of your favorite ocean characters as they pop in and say HI throughout the day! Our friends at Kettering Physician Network will be there passing out free summertime goodies. Alex Scott's Lemonade Stand Challenge
presented by Firebirds Restaurant

Alex Scott issued her lemonade stand challenge, encouraging people everywhere to hold lemonade stands during one weekend in June to help fight childhood cancer - "One Cup At A Time." Firebirds is honored to be a part of Alex's vision
again this year by participating in Alex's Lemonade Days. We will be hosting lemonade stands at all 43 Firebirds locations the weekend of June 9th-11th. Beginning June 3rd, our Big Daddy Lemon Cake will be available with a $1 donation back to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation with purchase. In addition, we will be accepting donations in the restaurant through June 11th.
Our mission is to create awareness for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and their efforts to find a cure for childhood cancer. Our goal is to raise $
100,000 with 100% of the proceeds going directly to ALSF. We have raised over $800,000 with our ongoing Alex's Lemonade Stand initiative where $1.25 is donated for every fresh squeezed glass of lemonade sold daily. Our signature Lemonade, "Alex's Lemonade", is named in honor of such a brave young lady.

We opened our first eatery in Syracuse in May of 2015. We are all people who have been in the food & restaurant business for a lot of years. We're as passionate as ever. Injuries are a leading cause of disability for people of all ages - and they are the leading cause of death for Americans ages 1 to 44. The good news is everyone can get involved to help prevent injuries. This June, we encourage you to learn more about important safety issues like prescription painkiller abuse, transportation safety, and slips, trips, and falls.
- Prescription painkiller abuse: Prescription painkiller overdoses are a growing problem in the United States, especially among women. About 18 women die every day from a prescription painkiller overdose - more than 4 times as many as back in 1999.
- Transportation safety: Doing other activities while driving - like texting or eating - distracts you and increases your chance of crashing. Almost 1 in 5 crashes (17%) that injured someone involved distracted driving.
- Slips, trips, and falls: One in 4 older adults falls each year. Many falls lead to broken bones and other health problems.
