St. Michael's Academy
  :

This is a such a fun time of the year for the students, culminating in a variety of events and field trips. We are looking forward to our violin and chorus recitals as well as field days in the coming weeks.

As much as we look forward to the fun, it is also challenging to keep the students on track for the remainder of the learning that needs to occur. When you combine that with the heat (which is sure to come sooner or later) it becomes even harder for them to concentrate. Please continue to remind them to hang in there and complete their work. Summer vacation will be here before we know it!

I hope everyone enjoys the long Memorial Day weekend. Let us remember all those who have given their lives in service to our country.

Hopefully the rain will hold off long enough for us to enjoy some time outdoors with family and friends. Have fun!

Peace,

Ann E. Dougal
Principal

Tuition Assistance

Attention All Families

In order for families to receive tuition assistance, they must complete a tuition assistance application EVERY year. Even if you received assistance last year, you still need to complete the application this year.

If you are denied assistance but believe you have certain circumstances that necessitate help, please complete an appeals form and submit it to the school.  All requests are considered, so please do not hesitate to apply.

Attendance Winners

Good Attendance Pays Off !

Congratulations to our perfect attendance dress-down winners! In order to qualify for the weekly drawing, a student must have no absences, tardiness or early dismissals the previous week of school. We select one from PreK - 2nd grade, one from 3rd - 5th grade and one from 6th - 8th grade.   Congrats to this week's winners!

Saludos!

Now that we are approaching the end of this 2016-1017 school year, there is a lot we can talk about. Let's start by recognizing each of our SMA students for their efforts.  I want them to know that everyone, especially the Spanish teacher, is very proud of each and every one of them. After experiencing all kinds of learning challenges, we have been able to succeed together!  This is the time of year when we look back and celebrate our accomplishments and thank God for being with us as we learn together.

I hope the students will continue to enjoy Spanish class in the 2017-18 school year as they build and advance their conversational and reading skills.

May the Lord bless you all!  Dios les bendiga a todos y que tengan un feliz verano!

Sra. Velez

School Mass

 School Mass

We send out a big thank you to  Fr. Thomas Shea for celebrating Mass with us this week.  Fr. Shea talked about how Jesus is always looking out for us and always watching over us even when we are unaware of His Presence. Our grade 4 students did a fantastic job as readers for the Mass.

Red Nose Day

Red Noses Spotted in PreK-3

On Thursday , the students in Mrs. Brodeur's PreK-3 class were treated to "red noses" by Camden's mom.  May 25th was Red Nose Day and money raised through Walgreens help children living in poverty in the United States as well as internationally. Thank you Camden's mom!

Food For Thought

"Dear friends, if you learn to discover Jesus in the Eucharist, you will also know how to discover Him in your brothers and sisters, particularly the very poor."
