Downtown Plaza May Update

SWT Design presented a modified site plan to the Community Development Committee on May 22nd. The major changes to the site plan involve a new two-way parking lot circulation pattern as well as a reduction to the size of the pavilion.

The new parking lot design separates it more from roadway traffic, is more intuitive for users, and makes it easier to block off segments of the parking lot for events if needed (see example below).

There was strong community support for both the train and market concepts, so they were combined into one branding and identity plan. The name O'Fallon Station was chosen along with some classic train iconography, but it is paired with the brighter colors and slightly more modern graphics and text of the Market scheme.

The main portion of the presentation can be viewed here. City staff was asked to explore some additional options and come back to the Committee with more information before proceeding.
