We're sorry if you missed the Moody Pastors' Conference. . . . . . . .
BUT there's always next year!

"The Moody Pastors Conference is my annual 'go to event for go to guys' ... it is full of top shelf preaching, worship, workshops and fellowship. This is an awesome event to be deeply refreshed and to recharge for ministry."
- Grant Willett
Oak Grove Church, Golden Valley, MN

"The Moody Pastors Conference offered me an opportunity to break away from the rigors and demands of ministry to receive encouragement from other pastors, inspiration from the general session speakers, challenge from the Word of God, and helpful information from the workshops I attended.  It's also fun to explore the downtown area of Chicago.   There were several years in the past where I could not find a conference that seemed well-suited to me, but the Moody Pastors Conference gives me a boost for continued pastoral ministry."
-David Johnson
Storden Baptist Church, Storden, MN

"The Pastors' Conference at Moody, which included the CBNC pastors' meeting was a real highlight for me. I was encouraged by the conversations with fellow pastors, the good speakers, and workshops which related in powerful ways to the work of shepherding the church as well as encouraging me in this stage of pastoral ministry."
-Pat McBride, New Life Church, Wanamingo, MN
x
"I have found the Moody Pastor's Conference to be a blessing in a host of areas:  Great Biblical expository preaching; worshipful music from a variety of genre's; good food; and cross pollination of ministry ideas with a great bunch of guys.  It is well worth the time and money."
-Eldon Carlson, Bloomer, Baptist, Bloomer, WI

Pastor's Wives . . . Just For You
". . .Let Us Kneel Before the Lord Our Maker"
-Psalm 95:6

We recently attended the wedding of our nephew, Zach, as he married Rebecca.  Other than the pouring rain, it was a beautiful day!  There is always something about a wedding that brings lots of smiles and the promise of a wonderful future.  This was so true at this ceremony.  It was easy to see how much Zach and Rebecca love each other.  Their reception was absolutely gorgeous.  Walking into the room I felt like I had just walked into a magazine spread.   Read More

CORRECTION!!

Last month you read about the 'CBNC Board of Directors'.  We apologize for an error that was printed in Pastor Steve Daggett's biography.  The power of a two letter word is amazing!  The sentence should have read, "He has NO immediate plans for retirement, though."

Steve Daggett is enjoying pastoring at Cavalier Baptist Church and will minister in Cavalier, ND as long as the Lord leads.

We are Cleveland and Daisy Powell, recipients of God's grace and partakers in ministering for the cause of Christ.    Albany Baptist Church and Youth Center are located in the East Garfield  neighborhood on the west side of Chicago, IL, where I now serve as pastor and also director of the Albany Youth Center.   Here I carry out the work of the ministry  along with my wife Daisy, Rev. Roosevelt Matthews, Veronica Andrews, the Blinc youth leadership team (Sandra White, Tonya Richardson, Tamara Jones), and the Albany family.

We minister to youth and their family members through  the church's worship services, Bible studies, Vacation Bible school, youth out reach activities, one on one, and group presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ . We also assist the bereaved and provide a place for funerals.  It is only because of God's grace that outreach ministry is possible, but Daisy and I would be remiss  if we failed to acknowledge the Lord's faithful minister who He brought into our lives to prepare, encourage, pray, and support us, Rev. Roosevelt and Mary L. Matthews, CBHM, now Missions  Door.  CBA church pastors and congregation open the hearts and encourage us.  We thank God for His faithful ministers.

"Care Package Support for Deployed Chaplains
. . . a chance to make a difference

x
"With recent force reductions, the supply system has been greatly reduced in terms of non-military "comfort" items.  By sending care packages directly to chaplains, you ensure safe arrival to a known individual, and provide our chaplains with "resources" that will bring useful items from "home" to those literally on the front lines."
- Andrew Meverden, Director of Chaplaincy

7 Signs What's Driving You Is Beginning to Destroy You

How Pastors Can Discern Their True Friends
"I've been asked several times, "What's the biggest surprise about being in ministry?"
. . .  Among the biggest surprises is how hard it can be to discern true friends."
