Over 1.2 million people live, work, learn, and play in Metro Richmond. Yet our public transportation system ranks 92nd of the top 100 metros. Many area faith leaders agree: we need a first-class metro-area rapid transit system! “The myriad reasons for such a system ultimately converge around its capacity to enhance: (1) equality of access, (2) quality of life, (3) environmental care, and (4) economic development,” says Nelson Reveley, RVA Rapid Transit Board Member.
Come here Nelson speak about this issue – and how YOU can help! – at a special FIRST SUNDAYS program on June 4 at 5:00 PM. After Nelson shares about what Henrico Co. residents can do to help this project, our Missions & Outreach Chair, Laura Lafayette, will discuss how CCE can begin to advocate for this ministry. Let’s grow deeper: together.
Children are invited to the Kids Care Club and nursery care is available. Following the program, we hope you will stay for a delicious fellowship meal of glazed pork tenderloin, rolls, corn on the cob, veggies and an angel food cake dessert bar.

Serve our littlest disciples at Vacation Bible School
This year we are exploring the Maker Fun Factory, a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by God. Children from around the community are invited to join us for a week of fun, faith and fellowship on Monday, July 10 -Thursday, July 13, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. We invite teens and adults to serve as volunteers. There lots of roles to choose from and each one makes a difference in the life of a child! Consider:
- Helping shepherd a small group of kiddos from station to station as a Crew Leader or Assistant Crew Leader
- Giving back to our community by assisting in the Mission & Craft station
- Leading fun games and activities outside
- Greeting and registering families as they arrive
- and more!

A note from the Stewardship Ministry
Have you ever wondered,
“
Am I living up to my potential as a faithful steward? Do I have the information I need to guide my stewardship?"
The Stewardship Committee believes it is essential to make the connection again and again between your gifts and the ministries made possible because of those gifts. To help you make and keep that connection throughout the year, we are going to address some questions and answers that may have crossed your mind.
Take time to evaluate the questions as they arise. Let the lessons you learn from them be lived out in your daily life. Challenge yourself to stretch beyond the
“
routine
”
and the
“
easy.
”
Be a steward!
