MCU's MiCPAC was a HUGE success. More than 40 new groups were represented, and many new members received their pins. MCU's Board meets next in Southeast Michigan on June 10. Our Annual Board meeting will be in Plainwell July 8. There will be some new Directors selected from among current members as we broaden our base. Members are kept informed, have first option to events, and discounts to MCU events.

Pentecost is significant in both the Old and New Testaments. "Pentecost" is actually the Greek name for a festival known in the Old Testament as the Feast of Weeks (Leviticus 23:15; Deuteronomy 16:9)
. The Greek word means "fifty" and refers to the fifty days that have elapsed since the wave offering of Passover. The Feast of Weeks celebrated the end of the grain harvest.
Most interesting, however, is its use in Joel and Acts. Looking back to Joel's prophecy (Joel 2:8-32) and forward to the promise of the Holy Spirit in Christ's last words on earth before His ascension into heaven (Acts 1:8)

The Paris Accord would cost about $450 Billion a year and rising (mostly American money) and MIGHT decrease temperatures by 0.02% total, by the end of the century. That is after 83 years of intense redistribution of wealth, jobs and technology from the USA to other countries, and ceding much of our sovreignty to the UN and unelected committees we have no influence over. Conservatives - Are we losing ground? We keep working for candidates who

our efforts to weaknesses in this relentless onslaught. We must step up efforts to get

One way we have effectively organized is by the use of Citizen Task Forces.
A typical task force meets in person about six times over a six month period to
study issues and propose conservative policies and solutions. We are looking at inviting panels on Energy and Health Care, and additional sessions on Education (Phase V) and Property Rights (Phase II). Participants pay their own expenses. They are expected to
bring experience and expertise on the subject, a commitment to conservative governance, and the ability and willingness to donate time and work in a collegial group atmosphere. Meetings are well organized and of limited duration, typically 90 minites and usually in Lansing. Additional phone or subcommittee meetings are sometimes used.

Years ago your editor collaborated on President Reagan's Strategic Defense Program at two separate agencies. The prospect drove liberal politicians nuts. If you eliminate the surety of "Mutally Assured Destruction" it might change the balance of power in favor of the USA. Democrats and many Republicans in our own country opposed it. Maybe they liked going to bed at night wondering if we might wake up? former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy suggests President Trump should flip the script on his inquisitors in three bold moves that would turn Democrats from hunters into the hunted:
Appoint a special counsel to investigate political spying, including unmasking and leaks to the media.
Have Congress hold hearings on whether the Obama Justice Department colluded with the Hillary Clinton campaign to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
Have Congress hold hearings on collusion between the Clinton Foundation and Russia.
McCarthy contends those investigations could succeed where the Trump-Russia collusion investigation failed, because, unlike the latter, there is evidence of actual wrongdoing.

Our Primer to help defend the President on the Paris Accord:
The summit of G7 wealthy nations pitted Trump against the leaders of Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Canada and Japan on several issues, with European diplomats frustrated at having to revisit questions they had hoped were long settled. Trump, who has previously called global warming a hoax, came under concerted pressure from the other leaders to honor the 2015 Paris Agreement on curbing carbon emissions.
The "Sustainable Development" mantra has permeated our cities, counties and townships as international schemers and politicians pass down their fear and ever increasing demands:
According to alarmists, if the USA were to pull out of the Paris Accord the World Temperature might rise 0.3 degrees C in the next 83 years. Link Really? There is no way their computer models can reliably conclude that, nor do they have mechanisms to measure that small a change over a century. The USA produces less than 18% of the World's industrial carbon emissions. To hinge such HUGE regulations and costs on such a tenuous "science" is truly reckless.

Please take the USA out of the Paris Accord. It acceeds National sovereignty and is based on "junk science." There is no proof mankind has endangered the Word climate.
The Paris Accord seeks to further implement the Kyoto Protocol the USA specifically refused to ratify.
The Paris Accord opens the door for a World tax and World-wide redistribution of industrial technology, facilities, jobs and money, from countires that have succeeded to those who have not. It would further gut American jobs, income, technology, industrial worth, and wealth.
Even more than the huge costs of this International bureaucracy, are the costs of the Internationally imposed and demanded regulations upon American families, businesses, communities, and governments.
This might be the most anti-American proposal ever sanctioned. The USA must get OUT!
If President Trump thinks NATO countries have not been pulling their fair share of costs, wait until this socialist scheme goes Global!
To impose extensive reporting requirements to an unelected international bureaucracy would have very negative effects and costs on governments, business and jobs, and implies a World police state and/or taxes to impose penalties for not achieving artifical and unproven objectives.
Climate is God's perview, not governments. Flora takes in CO2 and gives off O2; Fauna gives off CO2 and takes in O2. It is a match made in Heaven.
There have been numerous natural "disasters" that have given off much more CO2 in one incident than all mankind has since Creation. One was a volvano eruption in Italy earlier this year.
Man's footprint is miniscule by comparison. If we eliminated 2/3rds of the population - as recommended by some radical "greens", it would have minimal effect.
The Paris accord seeks to limit Worldwide temperatures to no more than 1.5 degrees C. above what it was before the Industrial Age. There are problems even with the intent. No one knows for certain what Worldwide temperatures were several hundred years ago, nor that such temperatures would be ideal now.
The World population has multiplied several times since the beginning of the Industrial Age. Growth of food must keep pace. Appropriate increases in CO2 are necessary.
The USA never approved this accord as the Treaty it claims to be, which requires the approval of 2/3rds vote of the US Senate. We are not legal partners to this audacious loss of sovereignty and the National Interest.

I think it would be terrible for our country. We have the potential of losing 6 million jobs and it would cost $3 trillion. Really, I don't think President Obama had the right to do it. He did it by himself without the approval of Congress. One of the problems we have in government is we let one person have so much power that he could do something that could cost 6 million jobs and nobody gets to vote on it-I think that's outrageous. It kind of looks like a treaty. If it's a treaty, it should come to the Senate and be passed. But I think President Trump has the ability and he indicated during the campaign that he wanted to get rid of and get out of the Paris accord so we hope we will. We have introduced a resolution to send it to the president to encourage him to get out of the Paris accord.

Dave Agema - How crazy and wrong has our country become? An East Lansing farmer is no longer allowed to sell his produce at the farmers market because he made a post on his FB concerning his views on natural/traditional marriage. Freedom of speech is gone. Protection of aberrant behavior is espoused, but traditional beliefs are punished. There is no longer a free market of ideas becasue free speech has been squelched. This is drifting towards insanity.
This mans name is Steve Tennis. He needs our support. When agencies get so involved in pushing their agenda that they punish people for supporting what our country has stood for for over 240 years, we have a huge problem and that problem is with progressive liberals running the shop.
