Family Promise: Volunteers Needed

Faith is hosting homeless families in the Gathering House the week of June 11th   through June 17th. We still have many slots open in which we need hosts for an evening dinner or overnight stay! To be a host is an essential but very easy role in this ministry to serve the less fortunate. Can you help? A signup sheet is on a table in the Commons. For Faith member (18 years and older) serving as evening or overnight hosts: if you have not completed a background check consent form, they can be found on the signup table. Fill out and return to Julie Crane in the church office. This is a requirement by the Des Moines Area Family Promise Board. If you have any questions about FP or volunteer roles, please feel free to contact Bob at [email protected], or Lynnette at [email protected]. Thank you!

Centering Prayer

Please come and join us for a time of rest as we sit in silent prayer. Silence, as it grows within us, has a way of finding our center and then in turn centers us. The gifts we receive in contemplative practice enable us to bring an attitude of humility, listening and willingness in all our relationships with ourselves, God and others. We meet every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the church office. You may contact Jan Stegeman at 556-5587 for more information.
