Mental Health First Aid - September 26, 8 AM - 5 PM at the DuPage County Health Department 

Participants will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health problems; how to understand and respond to signs of mental illness; prevalence of various mental health disorders; a five step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to assess the situation, implement appropriate interventions, and help the individual in crisis connect with appropriate care; and evidence-based professional peer, social and self-help resources available to help somone with mental illness. Upon completion of this course, trainees receive Mental Health First Aid Certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health. 7.0 CEUs for licensed social workers and counselors. There is a $40.00 fee to cover costs, which is due the day before the class. DuPage County employees please contact Michele Piver regarding payment.
