Dear Parents and Guardians,

Jesus said to his disciples: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And i will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows him. But you know him, because he remains with you, and be be in you."
John 14: 15-17

New Family Mentoring Program for 2017-2018 School Year
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to give their time and talent to assist us in our New Family Mentoring Program. The purpose of this program is to be able to give our new families a contact to go to if they have questions or are unsure of something. This would give our new families a comfort of knowing that we are a school community and are here to welcome them with open arms. Thank you for your willingness to help and be there for these new families to make the new school year as easy and comfortable a transition as it can be for them.
For your time and talent, we will give 10 FIP hours towards the 2017-2018 school year, which will be applied at the beginning of the 3rd trimester. For more questions about the Mentoring Program or if you would like to sign up to be a Mentor, please contact Lisa Edmunds at [email protected], or call the school office and ask for Mrs. Edmunds.

Counseling Corner
This week grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 had a visit.  We are discussing our May Fruit of the Spirit - Self-Control.  In all grades we talked about ways we need to practice self-control in all we do.  A video was shown teaching our youth some steps to take to practice good self- control.  We discussed 4 steps when practicing self-control, 1) Stop, 2) Think, 3) What could happen?, and 4) Is that what you want?  We discussed thinking about these steps at school, at home and on the sports fields.  Parents, help remind your child to practice these steps as we all work on our self-control.

Tick Season is in full swing, Tips on avoidance and removal:

  • Avoid wooded and bushy areas with high grass.
  • Use Tick Repellent (parents should always apply the product on children, avoiding hands, eyes and mouth.)
  • Bathe or shower as soon as possible after coming in doors.
  • Parents should check their children under their arms, hair, belly button, and between the legs.
  • If a tick is attached remove with tweezers and pull upward, do not twist as this can cause the mouth of the tick to break off and remain in the skin.
  • As always if uncertain, please call your pediatrician.

St. Jude the Apostle
ADORATION OF THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT,EXPOSED UPON THE ALTAR AROUND THE CLOCK,
FROM MONDAY 6 AM UNTIL SATURDAY 12 NOON, AND ON SUNDAY FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM
AT ST. JUDE THE APOSTLE PARISH ADORATION CHAPEL 152 TULIP DRIVE, LEWES, DE 19958

Do you feel called to spend some quiet time with Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament?

St. Jude the Apostle Parish is humbly grateful for the gift of perpetual adoration - for the several thousands of visits per month to our Eucharistic Chapel.
You do not have to be a member of St. Jude's to come and adore, nor do you have to be formally assigned to an hour of adoration to participate. You can come to the chapel any time, day or night - whether for a few minutes, an hour, or more - where Jesus Our Savior waits to speak with you, to hear and to answer your praise and gratitude, your sorrows, joys, and petitions.
We thank Our Eucharistic Lord and His Mother for the very large and generous response to the call to adore Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, which will continue to bring immeasurable blessings to those who adore, to our parishes, the Church, and the world. And we thank the many, many persons who come to the Chapel around the clock to worship Our Eucharistic Lord.
If you do feel led to sign up for a specific hour of adoration, please call 302-703-2419 to make that arrangement.

"Every holy hour we make so pleases the Heart of Jesus that it is recorded in heaven and retold for all eternity." Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta

"Jesus Himself is calling you to spend one special hour with him each week." Saint Pope John Paul II
