Adults and Teens, VBS - If you have ever served as a leader or helper at VBS, you know how much fun it is and how special it is to the kids! Our greatest need right now is for two or three people to help with childcare. We can also use some help with set-up on Sunday, June 11, after the 11 a.m. service and clean-up on Friday night, June 16. If you can help, please contact Angie Kline at angiek@petra.church or 717-606-5767.

Families, VBS - On Friday night, June 16, there will be a family meal at Petra from 5 to 6 p.m. Chik-fil-A is catering. You will be able to buy meal tickets that Monday through Thursday in the Atrium. A percentage of the proceeds will go toward the mission trip that Neal and Jenny Sensenig and family are taking to Africa this summer.

Let’s Read! The Petra Student Library's Summer Reading Program is open to ages Pre-K through Grade 8. Stop by the tables in the Student Library to sign up or to find out more. Return your reading log sheet by August 13 to receive a $5 gift card and be entered in a Grand Prize Drawing!

Local Outreach
Petra Church is partnering with Harvest Time Ministry, a nonprofit organization, to gather and deliver fresh produce to an inner-city church in Baltimore for distribution to low-income families. The gathering, traveling, and distribution of fresh produce will occur every Tuesday during the growing season, from Tuesday, June 6, through October 10. We need volunteers to help serve with this mission. Volunteers can do the following:
  1. Grow and donate fresh produce.
  2. Serve on Tuesday to load produce at Petra.
  3. Serve on Tuesday to go to Weaverland Auction and load produce that is purchased.
  4. Travel to Baltimore, unload produce, and help with distribution.
  5. All of the above.
We anticipate beginning the produce project each Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Petra and returning to Lancaster County by 8 p.m. We would like to have volunteers commit to one or more Tuesdays (19 total) from this Tuesday, June 6, through October 10.

Interested persons can contact Erma Zimmerman at erma@petra.church or Ken Covelens at kcovelens@aim.com or 717-341-0758.
Global Missions

They also assist with outreach to local immigrant populations. Pray for wisdom and insight as they give leadership to the Immerge ministry. Pray also for provision—personally and for their ministry needs.

Wedding Gowns for Haiti - We are collecting used wedding gowns for the Hopewell Network Churches in Haiti for two reasons: to provide wedding gowns for brides in Haiti who are unable to purchase gowns for themselves; and, at the same time, to provide an income stream for the churches as they rent them out. You can donate your own wedding gown or purchase one at a thrift shop. We will be collecting them next Sunday, June 11, or you can drop them off at the church office during business hours.
Israel Study Tour
An Information Night about the "God's Faithfulness" study tour to Israel October 12-24, led by Dr. Theresa Newell of our church family, will take place on Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. This is for those already signed up for the tour; for those who want to join; and those who would like to hear more. Learn about Jesus in his Second Temple Period setting and how walking the land builds stronger disciples. Meet at the Newells' home at 51 Willow Circle, New Holland, phone 717-351-5460.
