Mansfield Park (2000)

At 10, Fanny Price, a poor relation, goes to live at Mansfield Park, the estate of her aunt's husband, Sir Thomas. Clever, studious, and a writer with an ironic imagination and fine moral compass, she becomes especially close to Edmund, Thomas's younger son. Fanny is soon possessed of beauty as well as a keen mind and comes to the attention of a neighbor, Henry Crawford. Thomas promotes this match, but to his displeasure, Fanny has a mind of her own, asking Henry to prove himself worthy. As Edmund courts Henry's sister and as light shines on the link between Thomas's fortunes and New World slavery, Fanny must assess Henry's character and assert her heart as well as her wit.

The Beauty in Energy
June 1 - November 5, 2017

The Texas and New Mexico landscape is filled with photogenic opportunities:  cowboys, bluebonnets and even cacti, but many wouldn't think of oil rigs.  Oil, gas and the men working the rigs keep this country that we love going.  Bob Callender captures the artistry of an oilfield landscape, the choreography of workers in motion and The Beauty in Energy.  The Beauty in Energy features a number of large-scale photographs on different mediums.

Join us for the opening, June 1, 2017 at 5:30pm.  Admission is FREE and Bob Callender will be here for a gallery talk.  Light refreshments will be served.

Growing up in the oil patch my heroes - my John Waynes if you will - have always been the wildcatters, the roughnecks, the all-in kinds of people that power the industry, innovation and transportation of an entire nation. Growing up in the oilfeild my dad would say that if your were to be successful: "You've gotta be meaner than what you're working with."

As for me, I've ridden this roller coaster we call the oil and gas industry since I learned to walk. My dad was a top drilling superintendent who would take all of us - I'm  the youngest of 10 - to the drill sites when we were old enough to be safe out there with various prairie dogs, jackrabbits and rattlers.

Over the years I toted pellet guns, .22s and shotguns to the field. I've fallen neck-deep into a mud pit and been chased up a windmill by a herd of moody cattle. Ah, growing up in the oilfield life!

Since then I've connected my love for photography to my love for the oilfield. I'm an internationally known oilfield photographer featured in over 900 galleries across the US and around the world. I am the featured photographer for the Oil & Gas The Industry publication. My story has been told on the longest running sendigated show in Texas, the Texas Country Reporter and have been featured in numerous magazines.

I begin my process shooting with the maximum amount of color information, using raw images, and then post-shoot adjustments, maintaining flexabilty and high detail throughout. My desire is to make you feel the image and not just see an image.
