BALTIMORE MAYOR WANTS TO DUPLICATE NEW ORLEANS
Baltimore may follow "in the footsteps of New Orleans" and remove the city's Confederate monuments, the city's mayor says. "The city does want to remove these," Catherine Pugh told reporters after a news conference on Friday. "We'll take a closer look at it and see how we go about the business of following in the footsteps of New Orleans."
Baltimore has been considering the removal of its Confederate statues for over a year.
Former Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake appointed a special commission in 2015 to study what to do with Baltimore's four Confederate-era monuments.
They are the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Mount Royal Avenue, the Confederate Women's Monument on West University Parkway, the Roger B. Taney Monument on Mount Vernon Place, and the Robert E. Lee and Thomas. J. "Stonewall" Jackson Monument in the Wyman Park Dell.
In its report, issued in August 2016, the special commission recommended removing two -- the Taney and Lee/Jackson monument -- of the four.
Rawlings-Blake, who left office last year, ended up enacting a short-term resolution. She directed that "interpretive signage" be added in front of the monuments.
In the news conference, Pugh said the removal of Confederate monuments is "another one of those things we will tackle." She pointed to the cost -- about $200,000 -- of removing a statue, and suggested the city could perhaps auction off the statues.
Pugh's spokesman, Anthony McCarthy, told CNN Monday that the mayor will look at the recommendations made to Rawlings-Blake. "Then she will make a determination on where she will go from there," he said.
IF ORLANDO DOES NOT BEAT THEM TO IT
Next month, the city of Orlando will be honoring the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting on the one-year anniversary of the tragedy. A minority of very vocal activists hope to remove a 100-year-old statue of a Confederate soldier at the local park where the ceremony will take place. But defenders of Confederate heritage are not letting the statue go down without a fight.
The issue surrounding the statue, which was erected in the city's Lake Eola Park by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1917, was brought to light by a video released last week by David Porter, a former columnist for the Orlando Sentinel. In the video, Porter, who is black, called the statue of a Confederate soldier an "icon of white supremacy." Porter has urged the city to remove the statue before Orlando United Day on June 12, honoring those who died in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
While it remains unclear whether the Orlando statue will come down before next month, Cassandra Lafser, a spokesperson for the city, told Orlando Weekly that it is taking the issue under consideration.
In a previous issue, we reported that the Mayor of Orlando had told the City Council that he would like to see the monument moved to a nearby cemetery.
WHILE WE WERE IN CUBA
The Alachua County Commission (Gainesville, Florida) sided with Black Lives Matter, Anarchists, Communist Party members, and Antifa, AGAINST the WILL OF THE TAXPAYING PEOPLE by voting 4-1 to remove the "Old Joe" Confederate Veterans monument that has stood for over 100 years on land that actually saw combat by those it memorialized.
And at the Tampa Flag Site, the CSA First National Flag was removed Monday evening due to wind damage and will need serious repairs.
Louisiana victory was short lived:
A few weeks ago we reported some awesome bills, protecting monuments in Louisiana, that had passed through the State Legislature. Our reporting was slightly in error because it seems those bills had only passed through the House side of their Legislature. On the Senate side, the bills were "stuck" in a committee that has refused to move them forward for vote. This means that decisions on the fate of Confederate monuments erected in towns and cities around Louisiana will be left to local governments.
On Wednesday, the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee voted 4-2 to scrap the House-bill from Rep. Thomas Carmody, a Shreveport Republican, and a second proposal by Sen. Beth Mizell, a Franklinton Republican.
All four senators who voted against the bills are black.
Bill supporters called the monuments a reminder of Louisiana's history and memorials to veterans. Opponents described them as divisive and celebratory of a war defending slavery.
ANOTHER LOUISIANA VICTORY IN JEOPARDY
After Alexandria City Council decided to table the
issue of removing the Confederate Statue in front of the Rapides Parish Courthouse over issues of ownership, they are now asking the Rapides Parish Police Jury to "take action." The motion to table the issue passed by a vote of 4-3.
City Council President, Roosevelt Johnson, said the motion to table the issue was made to find out who actually owns the statue. During the meeting, Alexandria City Attorney, Chuck Johnson, said, "there is no evidence" that the city owns the statue. Chuck Johnson said the statue is either owned by the Rapides Parish Police Jury or the United Daughters of the Confederacy Thomas Overton Moore Chapter.
However, Councilman Green, who put the resolution to remove the statue on the agenda, believed the statue was donated to the city.
On Wednesday during a phone interview, Johnson said they are now waiting for the Police Jury to "take action" on the issue of ownership. News Channel 5 did reach out to Police Jury President, Craig Smith, he responded in a text message that said, "The Rapides Parish Police Jury has not discussed any action."
City Councilman At-Large, Joe Fuller who voted against the motion to table the issue, said removing the statue "is dead" for the time being.
"Our next step is we are going to say to the public that we do own it, and we got to get us a council who's willing to make the vote to do what they need to do," said Fuller. "And get a mayor and administration who is willing to stand up to get what has got to be done, but right now we don't have the votes."
Police Juror, Ollie Overton, has been an outspoken critic of the Confederate Statue being placed in front of the Courthouse. We asked Overton in a phone interview what "action" they plan to take, he said, "ask the city council."
Overton also reiterated what he said about ownership of the statue in a News Channel 5 report back in October 2016.
"I believe it should go back to its original owner," said Overton.
Originally, the statue was placed in front of the old Alexandria City Hall in 1914 by the Thomas Overton Moore Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. In 1962, it was moved to the Rapides Parish Courthouse where it still stands today. There is still controversy over who actually owns the statue: the city, the parish, or the Daughters of the Confederacy. Overton believes it should go back to the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
News Channel 5 has also obtained all documents mentioning the Confederate statue from the Rapides Parish Police Jury.
In a Feb. 1996 letter of compiled information by Jacqueline Raxsdale-Treubig, President of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Thomas Overton Moore Chapter, it stated, "the costs of the removal and placement of the memorial at the Rapides Parish Courthouse was incorporated in the construction costs of the new City Hall." However, there was no mention of transferal of ownership.
City Councilman At-Large, Joe Fuller, said the statue belongs to the city because the city footed the bill to remove it.
"When an attorney speaks to you it's an opinion," said Fuller, on Chuck Johnson's opinion of ownership. "That don't mean it's right and that don't mean it's wrong, but it's an opinion."
In the minutes from a Rapides Parish Police Jury meeting on July 30, 1962 the minutes state, "Police Juror Louis Ulman moved that, as per request of United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Confederate Statue be permitted to be placed on the Court House grounds with no expense to the Jury." That motion was adopted.
In the documents there is only one mention of ownership. In minutes from Jul. 20, 1982 it states, "On motion by Mr. Tom Mathews, seconded by Mr. Edgar Hathorn, to request the City of Alexandria to do the necessary repairs on the statue, owned by the City of Alexandria, and the Eternal Torch, which the city has agreed to maintain and furnish the gas for in remembrance of veterans, both located in the front of the Rapides Parish Courthouse."
The Police Jury also authorized the United Daughters of the Confederacy to clean the statue with no cost to the jury in 1994. The U.D.C was also granted permission by the Police Jury to repair the base of the statue in 1996. The motion to repair the statue's base was made by then Police Juror Joe Fuller who is now an Alexandria City Councilman who is opposed to the statue.
"We was doing some repairs. When I got to the jury the courthouse was brown, you couldn't even tell it was a courthouse," said Fuller. "We did some things to fix up the outside and the statue needed some help out there and my thing was let's just do it while we got the contract."
We also asked if he would vote to fix it again. He said, "yes." Fuller also said they don't want the statue demolished, but moved to another place. "It was never our intent to tear it down," said Fuller. "We are saying it's sitting in the wrong place."
There is no word yet on a timeline for what the next step is for city council or the police jury.
ALSO HAPPENING IN LOUISIANA
A student petition demands that Louisiana State University ditch its "Tigers" mascot, calling it "the most prevalent Confederate symbol in the United States."
According to the petition, the nickname was chosen during the War by "powerful white males" as an homage to the Confederate "Louisiana Tigers" regiment, whose members "were known for their propensity for violence on and off the battlefield."
The petition's author adds another reason to object the mascot, saying, "It's also cruel to cage a wild animal for the amusement of privileged white people....It is incredibly insulting for any African American to have to attend to a school that honors Confederate militantism," the petition continues. "It is already hard enough to be black at LSU, and these symbols must be changed."
Louisiana Fighting Tigers
It concludes by quoting Dr. Charles Coates, an LSU administrator from 1893-1939, who explained the origin of the Tigers mascot in a 1937 alumni newsletter.
Describing the school's initial foray into college football in 1895, Coates directly attributes the team's name to the State's heritage, noting that he found it appropriate because the original Louisiana Tigers were known for "getting into the hardest part of the fighting and staying there, most of them permanently."
Based on Coates' explanation, the petition labels the tiger a "symbol of white oppression" that must be eliminated: "We must speak truth to power, and continue to march toward justice," it declares. "That day is coming, the day when every symbol of white oppression is torn down."
TWO MARINES ARRESTED
Two active duty U.S. Marines were arrested after hanging a flag during a pro-Confederate Memorial Day celebration in Graham, North Carolina on May 20.
Sgt. Michael Chesny, an explosive ordnance disposal technician based at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, and Staff Sgt. Joseph Manning of the Marine Corps Engineer School at Camp Lejeune, reportedly, "drove hours across North Carolina to attend the 'Alamance County Taking Back Alamance County' rally, which organizers say is meant to celebrate southern, Confederate history."
When they arrived, the Marines climbed to the roof of a building adjacent to the town's historic courthouse and unfurled what local media characterized as "a white nationalist banner." In reality it was just a small sign that read, "He who controls the past controls the future," a quote from George Orwell's novel '1984.'
The two Marines were arrested by Graham police and charged with first-degree trespassing, a misdemeanor offense. The pair were released the same day from the local jail after posting $1,500 in bond and returned to their respective bases.
Public affairs officers with Chesny's and Manning's units who spoke to the Times-News say the incident is now under investigation by military personnel, who are awaiting more information from Graham police.
"Once the investigation is complete, the commanding officer's action can range from taking no action and letting the civilian authorities prosecute the case, to administrative actions such as formal admonishment, non-judicial punishment or administrative separation from the service," Mike Barton, a spokesman for MCAS Cherry Point, told Marine Corps Times.
Both Marines are decorated service members who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Chesny has three Marine Corps Good Conduct Medals, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and a NATO Medal-ISAF related to his deployment in Afghanistan, and Manning received a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
"Of course we condemn this type of behavior," Marine Corps spokesman Maj. Clark Carpenter told the local Times-News newspaper. "We condemn any type of behavior that is not congruent with our values or that is illegal."
The Confederate Origins of Memorial Day
Many Americans took pause on Monday to honor the men and women who have given their lives in the United States armed forces. What most probably don't know is that this holiday originated in the South after the War for Southern Independence. It was originally called "Decoration Day."
Don't tell the social justice warriors.
The monuments that these modern day Leninists believe represent "white supremacy" were a byproduct of a movement that began one year after the conclusion of hostilities to remember the over two hundred thousand men who died defending the Southern fight for independence.
It took decades to collect enough pennies to build the monuments that are now being toppled in hours.
Not even the Yankees who faced cannon and rifle fire from these Confederate soldiers were so bold to deny Southerners their memorials. Some, in fact, joined hands at dedication ceremonies across the South. If anyone should have hated Confederate soldiers, it was these men. But they didn't.
Thousands of Union soldiers saluted their Confederate counterparts as they surrendered at Appomattox and wept with them when these Southern patriots gave up their flags. Not one Union soldier burned a Confederate flag or dragged it through the mud when the War was over. The immediate aftermath was magnanimous on both sides.
Reconstruction created tension, but in subsequent decades as the South sought to be once again an integral part of the Union, and as the vigor of youth gave way to the reflection of old age, these grey headed veterans saluted both sides and honored their dead.
If anyone wants to understand why these monuments were erected, simply read the inscriptions. Not one is dedicated to "white supremacy," but all honor the Confederate soldier and many the Southern women who supported the cause. Several are dedicated to the "Principles of 1776" and the "Sovereignty of the States," the same cause Southerners wrote about as they headed off to war in 1861. This is no "Lost Cause" revisionism. That comes from those who disingenuously write that the War began as a moral crusade to end slavery.
The women who held the first "Decoration Day" in Columbus, Georgia in 1866 did so to honor the dozens of Confederate soldiers buried in Linwood Cemetery. This was soon replicated across the South. The Grand Army of the Republic copied the event in 1868, causing another Southern innovation to be coopted by Yankee do-gooders.
Americans soon honored Confederate dead as part of "Memorial Day" events, including those like President William McKinley who wore the blue.
Southerners eventually decided to hold separate "memorial day" remembrances in April as part of "Confederate Memorial Day." They wanted as a people to reflect on the cost of war. Their newly gained poverty was a daily reminder, but these wives, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, cousins, aunts, uncles, sons, and daughters of fallen heroes still burned with the flame of defiance. They put down their swords but did not concede that their men were "traitors."
By the 1870s no one north of the Mason Dixon called them that anymore. They were as American as Lincoln. It was not unfashionable well into the late twentieth century-even for the Left-to honor Confederate soldiers as valiant and courageous men. That list includes every American president from Teddy Roosevelt to Bill Clinton.
Taking down monuments or removing Confederate flags would have been as un-American as rooting for the Soviet Union to win the Cold War.
But as Bernie Sanders demonstrated in 2016, being a Soviet stooge makes you a rock star in modern America. Perhaps that is why adopting the Soviet playbook is so easy for both the uneducated and university indoctrinated masses.
Confederate memorials represent a roadblock in their crusade to eliminate Western Civilization and rewrite American history.
When all of the Confederate monuments are gone or "contextualized," where will the Leninists turn next?
If the cultural Marxists want to divest themselves of "Confederate" imagery, then "Memorial Day" would eventually have to go, too.
After all, long after the War for Southern Independence, the Confederate Battle Flag showed up on battle fields from Europe to Asia to the Middle East.
It would be the only "fair" and "equal" thing to do.

Like most of you, I am saddened about the catastrophe in New Orleans. The ISIS-like effort to erase history and culture should be a crime, but when the anarchist and Marxists control the government then "New Orleans" is what we get.
With regard to New Orleans' effort at cultural cleansing, please know and pass along notice that the Sons of Confederate Veterans have gallantly and rigorously fought for about a year and a half to prevent what has recently occurred (i.e., removal of monuments created to honor historical and community heroes and leaders). The SCV was fighting before most people knew that a City ran by leftist fanatics began their plant to erase Southern history.
Question: What will the SCV do about monument removal and destruction in New Orleans?
Answer: The SCV has waged a legal and political battle in New Orleans. The SCV lawsuits resulted in a Federal Court first granting an injunction, and then ruling that New Orleans could remove the Monuments. The SCV fervently lobbied politicians of Louisiana to enact an Historical Preservation Act, and such is belatedly coming to fruition. And, the SCV will continue the legal and political battle.
What the SCV does not do is break the law and promote armed rebellion (although our ancestors would have already done so before now, under the circumstances). The SCV has for many years throughout the United States, and for over 1.5 years in New Orleans, waged the legal and political battles to preserve Southern History.
Who sued New Orleans and kept the monuments standing for at least 1.5 years longer than they otherwise would have stood? Answer: The SCV. Who has sued Charlottesville, VA, to protect the Lee and Jackson Statues? Answer: The SCV. Who is waging legal war in Memphis to protect the Forrest Monument and Confederate Parks? Answer: The SCV. Who is responsible for enacting Tennessee's Historical Preservation Act? Answer: The SCV.
Many people, including SCV members, learned just a few weeks ago of the wicked effort of leftist, Marxists in New Orleans. But the SCV (particularly SCV HQ and the Louisiana Division) has been fighting the legal and political fight there for years. Years!!! The Courts and Politicians let us down; not the SCV.
Short of armed insurrection against New Orleans, the SCV has pursued all reasonable and practical efforts to defend Southern and Confederate Heritage. Few other groups have come close to matching what the SCV does every day.
Please spread the word good word about the SCV and its leadership, and let's keep up the fight. There is no one else around to protect Southern history.

There are many distortions of the truth that seem to be floating around social media and the press as to what actually transpired between Henry County District 2 Commissioner Dee Clemmons and the Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc.
To help clarify, I think it is now imperative I share what Commissioner Clemmons ordered on May 13, 2017 while a guest at an awards ceremony the Georgia Civil War Commission was hosting inside the museum.
As I am the co-founder and past president of the Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc., I was responsible for making sure Commissioner Clemmons was welcomed and introduced to the various people visiting the museum that day. Throughout the afternoon, Commissioner Clemmons made a point to sequester me from the group to discuss matters pertaining to the battlefield and museum. It was during these times that she told me that all Confederate flags INSIDE the museum must be removed because they could be offensive to a child or adult.
While she stated that all Confederate flags must be removed from inside the museum, the one we had extensive dialogue about was the Georgia Military Institute Flag (replica), which was a Second National Confederate flag with the battle accolades painted on it. This flag was displayed in what we called the Children's Room, which is an area where the history about the hardships of the children, both boys and girls, and Union and Confederate, during this time was told. Located in this particular room was not only dress up clothes for children who visited the museum to play with, but images of boys, Union and Confederate, who fought. There was a library where children could read about Georgia history in general. I explained to Commissioner Clemmons about the cadets, some as young as 14, that fought in the Battle of Resaca, in addition to other battles in Georgia, stating that since this unit of boys was from Georgia, their story was appropriate for the room. She told me that the historical aspect did not matter, but that the flag was offensive and had to be removed from inside the museum.
As stated previously, Commissioner Clemmons went on to say that all the Confederate flags that she had seen in the museum could not be displayed in a historical setting as they were because of their offence to many. This issue has nothing to do with the Confederate Second National Flag she had removed from the flag pole several months ago, but is a distinct separate event.
During our discussions, she also stated that the word "battlefield" should not be associated with the property because there was no battle that was fought on the property. She said that the name of the location would be changed, and the sign that Henry County Parks and Recs placed at the time the battlefield was purchased would be replaced with "Nash Farm Park". This is the biggest concern in all of this debacle.
Henry County used tax payers' money to purchase this property through eminent domain over 10 years ago because of its historical significance, not because it was a beautiful vista and green space.
To eliminate the word battlefield and take away the history behind this property, the county and state stand to lose a battlefield, whose pristine condition rivals that of any National Battlefield.
This rhetoric is dangerous and sets a precedent that property that was set aside as historic can be changed at the whim of a political figure with an agenda. This is the main story and we should not lose focus of that.
The current Henry County Board of Commissioners needs to take a stand and recognize the 204 acres as a battlefield where Union and Confederate soldiers gave the ultimate sacrifice. In order for this to happen, everyone who is enraged about a public official trying to change the historical context inside a museum, needs to respectfully contact every Henry County Commissioner. Additionally, contact your state legislator and ask if he/she will agree it is a battlefield and needs to be preserved as such.

The endless hostility of the Left, exemplified by violent fascists on college campuses, thugs in the streets, determined disrupters at town hall meetings, and the dishonest elite media are all part of their efforts to defeat the reforms and changes that President Trump was elected to implement.
The constant, anonymous leaks from disgruntled federal bureaucrats aim to provide ammunition for the propaganda news media to press the attack.
The Left's dance of destruction is stunningly choreographed.
I have been overseas for the last three days, and it has been sickening to see so many foreigners terrified because they unknowingly believe the news media's false reports and vicious attacks. The only version of President Trump they know is the one portrayed in the 24-hour cesspool of CNN and the daily acrimony of the New York Times. Sadly, our own nation's news media is doing more to undermine America's image than Al Jazeera or Pravda combined.
As the media continues to serve as a megaphone for the nameless federal employees who have axes to grind, remember that 95 percent of 2016 campaign donations from federal employees went to Hillary Clinton. At the State Department, 99 percent of employees who gave supported Clinton, and that figure is 97 percent at the Department of Justice.
Congressional Republicans are rapidly approaching a crossroads. Some have already surrendered by giving up on town hall meetings. Others have accepted the news media's false narrative as the truth. Republicans must decide if they are going to fight for what they believe in or retreat to the tenuous safety of the beltway bubble.
The Trump White House faces an even greater challenge. Trying to reason with, placate, or even respond to the Washington news media is a losing game. Each day, the opposition media is fiercely committed to either magnifying a supposed problem or inventing a new one.
We are today in a one-sided cultural civil war. The Left has picked the battlefield and defined the terms of engagement. If conservatives respond to this aggressive, sometimes violent hostility from the Left with confusion, uncertainty, and appeasement, we are guaranteed to lose the struggle to drain the swamp and reform Washington.
Further, surrendering will destroy America as we know it. Far from making America great again, we will have yielded our country to left-wing thugs, liars, and intimidators.
Those of us who truly want to make America great again have one choice: Fight. Our country is at stake.
Senate Republicans are well-positioned because there are 10 Democratic senators up for re-election in states President Trump won last November. These Democrats should be made to carry the burden of the collapsing Obamacare system and the pain it is causing in their states. They should be made to own every strand of expensive red tape they vote to keep and every Homeland Security measure they oppose. They should be held accountable for every crime in their states committed by criminal aliens protected by sanctuary city laws.
If Senate Republicans implement an all-out campaign, they could pick up all 10 seats and have the largest GOP majority since the election of 1868.
House Republicans have a more difficult challenge. Political polarization, compounded by a number of incumbents retiring, make it harder for them to expand their majority. But here are some numbers for perspective:
* 12 congressional districts carried by President Trump are currently represented by Democrats.
* These Democrats won by an average of six percent, or just 19,000 votes.
* Four won by less than two points.
* 23 Republicans are in districts won by Secretary Clinton.
* They won their races by an average of 12 percent, or 37,000 votes.
* Only one Republican in a Clinton-won district won by less than 2 points.
Defeating the Left's attacks will require House Republicans to engage in significantly more training and planning than they are used to. Most House Republicans have spent their congressional careers in a safe majority. Very few lived through the disaster of 2006, and only a handful of current members were in the so-called permanent minority before 1994.
This House GOP has never faced an all-out political war like this. House Republicans must dramatically reorganize their thinking and restructure their activities - or resign themselves to accepting Speaker Pelosi and the impeachment effort of 2019 (which will be the Democrats' first priority, should they gain control of the House).
House Republicans must change now. Fighting to retain a majority is far easier than fighting to reclaim it. Remember, before the Contract with America, House Republicans had been in the minority for 40 years.
The Trump White House, however, faces the biggest decisions. Members of the Trump team have used harsh words but timid tactics when dealing with the unending, dishonest, and vicious assaults by the left-wing media.
The President seems to understand how serious and how bad the situation is. He has said:

When your opponents are "among the most dishonest human beings on earth," "do a tremendous disservice service to the country," and are "part of the problem," then you need a strategy and system that is built around that analysis.
The next few months will see one of the greatest decisions in American history. Do we fight to make America great again, or do we surrender to those who claim the elitist power to dictate to the rest of us?

So many, I believe, do not consider that the invasion of the Southland which began with the War Between the States did not conclude with the end of those hostile times. Such "heros" like the vile former Union Generals Sheridan and Sherman continued their vile subjugation of all that lay in their path by turning their attention to the Native of Americans. Done with that, they returned to one of their favorite "toys", the much beleaguered Southland. And so it continues to this day at New Orleans, West Virginia, Nash Farm Battlefield and countless other current battle lines.
The Southern people have never been opposed to the man with the black skin - our fight was always with the man in the blue uniform who has never possessed the capability to live and let live. Not satisfied by messing up their own lives, they constantly seek to run and control the lives of other and shape them to their own repulsive image.

There are limited opportunities to educate the general public on the principles the Confederacy stood for and fought for, and this requires that we occasionally adopt some fairly creative measures in doing so. Otherwise, our Southern Heritage and its icons will be stolen from us, including not only Confederate Monuments, but the names of schools, highways, and parks, as well.
However, before you can influence the ignorant and the brainwashed, you must first get their attention: I propose a campaign to lower all Confederate flags to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on the Birthdays of Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee.
Curious individuals should be told that this is being done in protest over the dismantling of Historic symbols of the Confederacy, and also done to honor two of the South's greatest heroes. Anyone who flies a Confederate flag of whatever type is invited to participate.
Perhaps a short brochure could be developed to describe the flag protocol, which can be handed out to those who are curious and seek further information regarding the Confederacy or this campaign.
Since the Confederate flag has been adopted as a worldwide symbol among those who promote freedom from tyranny, the practice of lowering flags to half-mast on these days might help to further disseminate our message.

Sir,
I write in response to an article that appeared in your New York Times International Newspaper recently, about the Nazi Flag coming from the Confederate flag.
Sir, my Ancestor fought for the Confederacy, he fought so that the invader from the North could be made to exit the Southern land commonly known as "Dixie", and that the Southern people could live in peace.
My Ancestor is buried in Northern ground, where l do not know, the State l do know, Pennsylvania.
If the Nazi flag had been around at the time of the War Between The States, then Sir, l expect the Northern States to have been those Nazis.
I read somewhere that the Founding Fathers had said..that if any State/Territory or Government found it necessary to leave the United States, then they could leave and form their own Government...But the President at that time didn't think that that would be right, so the outcome is as we all know led to war, what the Northerners called the war of Rebellion, and what the Southern States referred to it as...The Second War of Independence. Had Abraham Lincoln been a fair and just President, he would have allowed one or two States to break away, they could have been tempted back into the Union with a little bit of sense and time to think about what would happen...But no, he sent 75,000 blue clad troops into the South to quell the "Rebellion".
And now, lies are being taught to all non Confederate minded people that that Honorable Military Battle flag that bears the Cross of St. Andrew and is adorned with 13 White stars on a Red field flew over "Slavery".
How hard is it to access the truth through the internet to see what that flag stood for all those years ago, so please tell me, how hard is it to find truth over lies..not hard at all is it?
If my letter should by some chance get printed..and l don't think it will, but if it should get printed, l would like to ask the public that read your paper this question: What flag was it that first flew over slavery...the Confederate flag, or...the Stars and Stripes?
There must be some, not many l guess, but some that know the TRUE answer, okay, if it's that hard l shall tell you...it was the Stars and Stripes!
How about that? A flag that was around at the time of slavery in the United States of America, is still flying today, what must it be like to find out that the TRUE flag that was around at the time of slavery, and let's not forget also, that it still flies today, so don't you think it's time to change that flag for another flag that has NO history of slavery about it...l do.
And now, the Honorable Confederate flag and the hated Nazi flag, where, how...could the Hated Nazi flag have come from the Confederate Battle flag?
The Nazi flag had a Swastika and no stars, and the Confederate flag had stars but no Swastika, l will say this that if the Confederate flag had been made into a Swastika flag...how ugly that would have looked, an elongated Swastika, you must be able to see how the Nazi Swastika flag couldn't have come from the other surely.
The Christian flag of the South, look at the design of the Confederate Battle flag, now refer to your Bibles and you will find something very similar in design, but read it very carefully, start if you will with the Cross of St. Andrew, look at the way it is shown, think of someone carrying that Cross on their shoulders.
Now take the field of Red, your Bible tells of the Blood that was given for the World, consider the amount of Blood needed.
Now take the Stars, it all reads into the Crucifixion of Our Lord Jesus Christ...see the 3 Stars on each spar of the Cross, the 12 Disciples maybe, and the Star in the center...Our Lord Jesus Christ?
Someone is trying to destroy all the History, Heritage and symbols to show that "Dixie" never existed, that slavery did exist, but what these people don't seem to understand is, that if they eradicate everything that they believe the Confederate flag stood for, then there can't have been any slavery in the South, but all over the United States of America, under the Stars and Stripes flag which is still in use and still flies today.
Eradicating History, Heritage, Symbols, and a way of life is impossible, changing Road names, Parks and building names, having Historical flags and monuments removed is worrying, but it won't stop History or Heritage from being told to the young, the young will make up their own minds.
These Southern people that fly what many call a "Racist flag" either from a pole or on T-shirts do so to remember THEIR Heritage, to remember that THEY are Southern people, living in Southern States, living THEIR own lives and having THEIR own beliefs.
So whatever the enemies of the Southern States think, they WILL NEVER kill our beliefs or our Heritage, because we all know the TRUTH for what the Confederate flag stands for...and it is NOT RACISM, it's a Southern way of life and no one else can understand that way of life...you have to be Southern, you have to be from Dixie.
You cannot kill a flag, as you can man, a flag can be reproduced over and over again, memories will live forever, the enemies cannot kill our memories, you cannot harm our Ancestors, so really, you are wasting your time and money.
History will live on as long as there is someone to teach it to the young.
The world has heard of the Ku Klux Klan, if anyone is guilty of the troubles that is happening in America then it is they, they stole the Confederate flag for their own, they were formed of the South, but had no flag of their own, so they stole the Honorable flag of our Confederate Ancestors and turned it into a flag of HATE!
And now, we have the troubles that the Klan had first started with their murders of innocent people, anybody flying or wearing the flag of the CSA (Confederate States of America) is classed as a racist, no matter who they are or what they are, if they have or fly the Confederate flag then they must surely be racist, and all down to the Klan and their murderous ways.
I am happy to enclose my address because that which l have written above is the TRUTH, and there is no one that can take the TRUTH away from me.

I took down my Confederate Battle flag (which you can't buy on EBAY any more) and peeled the NRA sticker off my front window.
I disconnected my home alarm system and quit the candy-ass Neighborhood Watch.
I bought two Pakistani flags and put one at each corner of the front yard. Then I purchased the black flag of ISIS (which you CAN Buy on EBAY) and ran it up the flag pole.
Now the local police, sheriff, FBI, CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, Secret Service and other agencies are all watching my house 24/7.
I've NEVER felt safer and I'm saving $69.95 a month that ADT used to
charge me.
Plus, I bought burkas to wear when I shop or travel. Everyone moves out of the way, and security can't pat me down. If they say I'm a male wearing a burka, I just say I'm feeling like a woman today.
Hot Damn...Safe at last.
