Wednesday, May 24 at 6 PM
A great deal has happened since January's "Transition Townhall," when we came together to talk about social action and social justice work in the context of the new administration. On Wednesday, May 24 we will gather from 6-7:30 PM (pizza served at 6, meeting beginning at 6:30) for another Social Action Townhall, open to the entire congregation. It will be immediately followed by our annual meeting at 7:30 PM. We will reflect on the social action work that has happened in the last 5 months, both new and ongoing projects. It is also an opportunity to learn in greater depth about some of Temple Sinai's specific social action initiatives.
RSVP now.

Good Neighbor Program Update
|
Abdul and Zeya Gul and their family arrived in the US two weeks ago from Afghanistan and are settling into their new Silver Spring home. Their daughters, Yalda and Muskah, were welcomed warmly at Rosemary Hills Elementary this week. Their son, Omran, will begin pre-K in the fall and enjoyed his visit to the school with his sisters on their first day. Abdul and Zeya Gul have completed much of the paperwork required for new refugees and are looking forward to starting English classes. Thank you so much for all of the generous donations and volunteer hours to ease this transition for the family. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact either of the Good Neighbor co-chairs, Andrea Dettelbach
or Catherine Ribnick.

Broad Branch Road Closure |
Ingleside says they now expect the Broad Branch Road closure to begin on May 18 and last for about two weeks. The closure is necessary to connect improved water and sewer lines to DC Water lines on the other side of Broad Branch. The closure will involve about 40 feet where Ingleside's driveway intersects with Broad Branch, between Linnean Avenue and 27th Street.
