Teens Overcoming Grief with Art Receive
New York Life Awards

The New York Life Award is given to six creative teens whose works explore the range of emotions that come with the loss of a close loved one. In addition to the Award, the teens received scholarships of $1,000 for their art or writing. Meet the 2017 Recipients.

Thank you, Jurors!
Selecting the works that go on to receive National Medals isn't easy. That's why we call on luminaries in a diverse array of creative fields to be our jurors. We appreciate all the hard work our jurors put in during the judging process—we couldn't do it without you! Learn more about our jurors.

Poetry + Migration
In support of the Poetry Coalition, the National Student Poets curated the Scholastic Awards Tumblr for the month of March. From original to found poems, the Student Poets selected thought-provoking works based on the theme of migration. Read the poems.

Fashion-Forward Pieces Receive
Neiman Marcus Awards

Through a partnership with Neiman Marcus, we're able to offer outstanding works in the Fashion and Jewelry categories additional opportunities for recognition and scholarships. Two students were recognized for their fashion-forward pieces and received $1,000 scholarships. View the works.
