Covenant's Corner

I'd like to welcome all the new friendly faces to the community! 2017 has already been a busy year for home sales; I have put together some important key points for all owners/residents to help make your life at Victoria Gardens a pleasant one!

Sidewalk Safety
- Keep scanning for vehicles as you cross.
- Make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front of a vehicle.
- Hold your hand up or do whatever it takes to make yourself more visible to drivers.
- Be sure to wear proper fitting shoes when walking.
- Do not text and walk! Pay attention to the sidewalks and spot any cracks or uneven pavement to prevent falls. Some sidewalks may be lifted in areas where tree roots grow. Be sure to use caution and awareness when walking.
- Avoid walking in the dark and during bad weather such as rain or fog.
- Listen for the engine noises of backing vehicles when you're near a driveway or crossing mid-block between cars.

  WILDLIFE OF VICTORIA PARK
  by John Serrao

SOUTHERN TOAD

As soon as the spring rains finally arrive, take a walk or drive to the nearest pond or wetland and just listen. You may hear the voices of several kinds of frogs that had been awaiting the arrival of the rainy season to breed. Each species has its own unique "song" (actually more like a croak, chirp, or grunt) to attract females into the water where their eggs are deposited and their tadpoles later develop.

German Spring Fest Luncheon Update
The German Spring Fest will be rescheduled to Saturday, June 3rd.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Jimmy's brother passed away this past weekend. Jimmy is an essential part of the Jimmy & Eckhard Show scheduled for the German Spring Fest luncheon on Saturday, May 20th. Jimmy will not be able to perform on the current scheduled date due to services for his brother.

We've rescheduled the event for Saturday, June 3rd. All of the other event details remain the same. I understand that the date change may not work for some and we will issue full refunds to those who request a refund before May 27.

If you wish to get a full refund, please call the Resident Service Desk (386.785.2700 Option 1)

Spectrum Internet Speed Update
Spectrum Internet Speed Update

As a Spectrum customer, a notice was sent out via mail regarding an internet speed upgrade. Click here to view the notice.

It has been brought to our attention, that a person claiming to be a Spectrum representative came to a resident's door requesting to remove and not replace their equipment. Because this service was not requested, the home owner contacted Spectrum to verify the work order & found that Spectrum did not have that request for removal in their system. Additionally, all Spectrum Tech's should have a Spectrum Badge with their name on it.  If any resident is unsure or suspicious, they should ask the Tech to produce their Spectrum Badge/Identification.
As a friendly reminder to all residents, if a service representative comes to your home that you did not expect, it is recommended to please call Spectrum directly to confirm the representative's request. 1-866-497-4630.

No breakfast first as a group, but you can, of course, go on your own.

Walks will start up again in October.  John and I will take a break during the summer heat.
