Tea in a Cherished Churchyard
St John's, Sharow are celebrating their churchyard biodiversity this Cherishing Churchyard Week, 3rd-11th June, with an open day and tea party on Saturday 10th June from 2-4pm hosted by parish priest, the Reverend Ruth Newton. All are welcome!  Read more.

St Ed's Gains Bronze Eco Church Award
Congratulations to St Edmund's Church, Roundhay, Leeds on achieving their Bronze award. They have been working with other local churches and in the wider local community to promote care for the environment and consideration of our responsibilities to future generations.  Read more.

Applying for a Church Times Green Church Award?
The new awards have prizes up to £6,000 for an innovative environmental project and categories for green congregation, building, personality and biodiversity. Read more. 
  Ride and Stride for Churches
Each year the Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust run an event called Ride + Stride, which involves people getting sponsored to visit as many churches in a day as they can, either by foot, on a bike or by car. Could you raise funds and awareness for the environment? Read more.

 First Coal-Free Day in Britain since 1880s
We entered a new era on Friday 21st April when, for the first time in over 130 years, no coal was used to generate the nation's electricity. It marks a watershed moment in reducing our carbon emissions. Read more
