VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Elaine Arndt

What degree did you earn?  From which college?
A Bachelor of Arts in History and Government from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia

What would be the first thing you would buy if you hit the lottery?
A home on the water. Then a ukelele. And ukelele lessons.

What advice would you give a (rising) high school senior?
We are lucky enough to live in an area that has every type of college experience represented within a one hour drive - Large (UMD-College Park, Towson), Medium (UMBC, GWU, Georgetown) and small (Goucher, Hood). Check their website for tours, sign up with a friend, and go. It will give you an idea of what each size feels like to you. Also, when you have found colleges that you're interested in, sign up for the Admissions office emails and texts so you know when events are coming up.
