"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.
We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Our Anthem This Week:
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
A solo by Larry Holbrook
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with thee; thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not; as thou hast been thou forever will be. Refrain: Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed thy hand hath provided; great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide; strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain

Family Promise News
Work Day, Saturday, May 6
The Cundiff House Day Center needs sprucing up, so we will have a workday on Saturday, May 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The leaves and weeds need to be removed from the play area in the back yard and general cleaning of toys and other play equipment. If you can help, bring a rake and gloves. Donuts and water will be
provided for volunteers. If you have any questions, call,
email
or text Cathy Parrish (706-969-2107).
Trailer Team
If you have a truck with a trailer hitch, I have an easy volunteer opportunity for you.
Every Sunday, the Family Promise trailer containing beds and other supplies has to be reliably transported from one church to the next for a successful host rotation. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Pastor Tim Morgan at (912) 223-6018 or
pastortimmorgan@windstream.net.

History of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection
May is an important month in the life of The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. We were founded on Pentecost Sunday, May 30, 1993, as an aided parish of Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church in Habersham County. The founding 12 families initially held services in people's homes, then in the old White County Courthouse on the Sq
uare in Cleveland and then in the United Com
munity Bank annex building. The current site of the church became available when a 1994 Palm Sunday tornado destroyed the new home of a parishioner. The 34-acre property was purchased by Resurrection, construction began, and the building was dedicated on Pentecost Sunday, May 26, 1996. In 1999, additional educational space and provisions for a preschool were started to benefit the parish and the community. In its first 24 years, Resurrection has grown from the original 12 families to over 175 families with an average Sunday attendance of 120 parishioners and guests.
