Auction, Mulan Sponsors, May Crowning
Saint Michael's Minutes
Teaching Children their value as Children of God
Principal's Notes
Dear parents and families,

This Saturday is the Saint Michael Auction! More information and photos of Cowboy Cinalli are below for your enjoyment, and hopefully motivation to join us for the fun-filled night to help our school.

Our 8th graders have been memorizing their lines and rehearsing nonstop to get ready for their off-broadway performance of Disney's Mulan Jr. on June 1 for everyone. If you would like to help sponsor the play, as an individual, a family, or a business, please email Mrs. Taylor at [email protected]. It is important to support the arts, and your names will go in the PlayBill for the program as an official sponsor for all the attendees to see!

This Friday, May 5th, we invite parents to join us in the church at 8:15 for our May Crowning. There will be no Mass that day, so instead we will hold our own prayer service where the students will pray the rosary, sing songs for Mary, give flowers to Our Mother, and crown her. The second graders are encouraged to wear their First Communion suits and dresses (or dress up if they did not receive) for the event. The school will supply all students with a flower to present to Mary, but if you would like to send in others, or process after the students yourself that is absolutely encouraged.

Our internet has been having difficulties in the junior building for the passed week. Cox came out to repair it, but sadly everything is not running optimally yet. If teachers have not replied to emails or updated websites it is due to this. Please send me an email if you would like the message relayed to your child's teacher for the next few days.

The Cap. Club trip to the Newseum was rescheduled for May 20.

A Cap. Club service project to help the Archdiocese of Washington is scheduled for May 13.
God bless,

Daniel Cinalli
Principal

PS- Congratulations to our second graders for receiving their First Holy Communion this weekend!

A letter from Cowboy Cinalli:

Howdy parents,
Every cowboy has to watch over the herd and ensure their safety, well-being, and care. These days, it is hard out on the ranch. Crazy weather, high pollen, and the cattle seem to be enjoying the fields a bit too much, and they are trying to get out of the pasture and need to be herded back in.
I suppose that is the natural inclination of every creature: the desire to grow, be free, and expand their horizons. I just hope that the Saint Michael Catholic Ranch is able to provide all the tools and resources needed to ensure all my herd are set up for success. We've got the fantastic staff, and gorgeous facilities, but nowadays it seems like it takes a little bit more.
To ensure the herd thrives, I suppose we're going to have to have ourselves an old fashion Hoe Down to raise some money! This money will be used for new technologies for all our students here on the ranch, and will ensure the Saint Michael Catholic Ranch stays on the cutting edge. Parents can bid on amazing gift baskets, sports tickets, teacher for a day, principal for a day, or so much more!

I hope to see you all there this Saturday at 6:30 PM. Cowboy Cinalli will be there in full regalia, and it will be a Hoot N' Hollering good time for all! Yee Haw!
Bill Nye the "Science" Guy
Bill Nye The Science Guy was a part of my childhood and has remained a staple in many classroom for decades.

However, his new Netflix show, "Bill Nye Saves the World" has ventured into very dangerous, political, and anti-Catholic views. Many of you may think that his show is appropriate for your children due to the host's past persona, but I highly recommend you watch the entire season yourself without your children before showing them any segments. There are extremely inappropriate songs and content that are not suitable for any middle schooler, in fact one segment I do not feel comfortable even summarizing in our newsletter.

I do not intend to have a media update in every St. Michael's Minutes going forward, however after discussing this show and Bill Nye's presence in the school with our teachers, I thought it best to inform the parents as well.

"It is of the utmost importance that parents exercise their right and obligation toward the younger generation by securing for their children a sound cultural and religious formation. They must also educate them to a deep sense of responsibility in life, especially in such matters as concern the foundation of a family and the procreation and education of children." - Pope John XXIII
