How Money Coach helps teens see the future  

Divyne, 17, knows she has the tools to make her dreams of becoming an accountant a reality. That's because she has support from people in her community like you.

Through our Money Coach program, Divyne met her mentor,  Kara Coates, an accountant who had the same goals and uncertainty that Divyne had while she was a Milwaukee high school student.

Take it to the bank: new blog on the power of opening an account

Than, a senior at Ronald Reagan College Preparatory H.S., opened his first bank account after going through our Money Sense program.


"There are a handful of behaviors around financial literacy that I know lead to true, lifelong impact.  Opening and maintaining a bank account is one of those key behaviors. I don't think the general public always appreciates the impact that can come from that first account."

Top tier: 9th Annual Investment Conference raises the bar


A new format, intriguing stock picks and a keynote by "one of the best investment minds in our country" made the 9th Annual Investment Conference a top-tier event.

Turning 18 brings with it a number of milestones. Racine volunteers recently made sure juniors and seniors at J.I. Case High School were prepared for one big one: credit cards.



Supporter spotlight: Associated Bank partners for the next generation 

Dion Saffold, a Make A Difference volunteer from Northwestern Mutual, describes credit scores to juniors from Bradley Tech H.S.  Saffold led lessons for nearly 100 teens at the Associated Bank "Bank Your Future" event.

Associated Bank has been a strong supporter of Make A Difference since our start in 2006 and has helped bring financial literacy programming to thousands of teens. One special way they support financial literacy is through an annual event that provides Milwaukee-area youth with a day of mock job interviews, financial literacy lessons and inspirational speeches.

The event involves a collaboration between Associated and many other community groups, including Make A Difference, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and National Association of African Americans in Human Resources. Dion Saffold, one of our star volunteers, led dozens of students through a primer on credit. At the end of the day, Milwaukee Bucks rookie Malcolm Brogdon urged area students to work hard toward living their dreams. Through support from Associated Bank, countless teens in our community are up for that task.
