Closing Remarks From Wyman Hamilton
As many of you know I have spent my entire career in Seniors Housing. I have worked both for a non-profit and large corporations as well in communities and corporate offices. One important thing I have learned is that there are a lot easier ways to earn a living than in Senior Housing but there are few industries as rewarding. People do not get into this industry for the money, they get into this industry because they want to make a positive difference in people's lives; they have a passion for serving seniors; and that is amazing to watch.
That is not to say that people don't get jaded along the way or that we don't make bad hires; when that happens we need to own it and correct it immediately; a lot of times we just get so caught up in the stress of the day and we just need to take a step back and remember why we do what we do.
To give you a glimpse of why some of our leadership team works in this industry every day we will begin including
a quote from Atlas's Management Team explaining why we chose to work in senior housing.
"Speaking from a Memory Care point of view: I think the most important thing to keep in mind day in and day out is that we have the ability to have such a positive effect on the resident and family member's lives at such a difficult time. When most people are heavy with emotions seeing their loved lose a sense of who they once were, it's rewarding to know there's not many other professions that have the ability to have such a profound impact on their "customers" like we do." - Marcus Covar
