Online Registration-
Scouters,
We are pleased to announce that beginning June 6th online registration will go live in the Greater New York Councils. This streamlined online system will be run through  my.scouting.org, and will be available to every Pack, Troop, and Crew throughout the five boroughs. As we get closer there are a few things to know. Some councils have already begun to use this system, and there has been widespread support from both the volunteer and council level in other parts of the country. We have been working hard to make sure that everything will roll out as smoothly as possible next month, and we need your help with some of the preparations. In the coming weeks, every Pack, Troop, and Crew will be receiving an email from our national office explaining how to set up your configurations in the online system. It is important that we all log-in that day and complete all the steps.

As we get closer to our fall registration season we will release more resources to assist with the system. We are excited to roll out this system throughout the five boroughs and look forward to your support and feedback. This system will help streamline our registration process this fall as we recruit new youth and adults. This will help lead to faster and more accurate online registration throughout New York City. Two Local Heroes Remembered by a Local Boy Scout
By John Farrell
We pass these locations most days.  Going to work, school, or visiting our friends and neighbors, in Mill Basin and Bergen Beach Brooklyn.  But few know that two local street triangles in our neighborhood are named for Heroes.  One for a local young man, who served his country during the Vietnam War and succumbed to his combat wounds years later.  The other for a Catholic priest, who against many odds and trials established St. Bernard's Parish.  In what was once a quite sparsely populated area in the early 60’s.

It's not to late to apply for a summer job at a GNYC Summer Camp. 15 year olds can apply as CITs. 16 and up can apply for positions.
