Target Supports A Size Healthy (A.S.H.) Initiative

Since opening its first store in 1962,  Target has inves ted in the health and sustainability of com mu nities across America. Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) is a beneficiary of Target's support - including its A Size Healthy (A.S.H.) initiative of the Unity 4Teens (U4T) program.

According to the CDC, "the percentage of children with obesity in the United States has more than tripled since the 1970's ...Today, about one in five school-aged children (ages 6-19) is obese." The goal of A.S.H. is to curb youth obesity through nutrition and physical education.

Humana  is more than a health insurance company.  Based in Louisville, Kentucky, the health and well-being company is a supporter of numerous community initiatives, including HUF's 
Te Ayudo (I Help You) program.

Through Te Ayudo, Hispanics and other Broward County residents receive assistance getting connected to healthcare benefits and services that fit their family's budget and needs.

Recently, Humana has formed partnerships with community and physician leaders to work together for better health care. Their "bold goal" is to help make the communities we serve 20 percent healthier by 2020.

The  Ana G. Méndez University System (AGMUS)  is committed to serving a culturally diverse community of students and offering a variety of academic programs from Associate's to Master's degrees. Thanks to their support, thousands of HUF clients become citizens every year!

AGMUS's accelerated, dual-language (English-Spanish) model focuses on working adult-learners. Program orientations take place every Wednesday.
