Citizens Project Empowers Educators to Manage the 'December Dilemma'

Every December, public school students, parents, teachers and administrators face the difficult task of acknowledging the various religious and secular holiday traditions celebrated during that time of year.  The effort to promote understanding for those of all traditions while adhering to First Amendment requirements awareness  can be very challenging for those in the public schools.

Last month Citizens Project sent copies of the Anti-Defamation League's publication "The December Dilemma" to all high school administrators in the region.  We hope that this resource was valuable to teachers and administrators during the holiday season. Citizens Project remains committed to being a resource to educators throughout the entire school year as they wrestle with the nuance of church/state separation while engaging their students in relevant conversations.
